the world series went quietly this year it seemed for me, boston is on fire. i'm happy for em, especially because i'm not really liking the yanks(met fan). i hope they lose ARod and he comes along to the mets. god help us if red sox get him..theyd be unstoppable

Yea the Lowell MVP kinda threw me for a loop, but he was fairly consistent, I think Beckett should've been the MVP for all of the playoffs, amazing pitcher. I very much dislike the Yankees and A-rod will not be returning to the Yankees, according to Hank Steinbrenner who said "A-rod doesn't understand that it is a privilege to be a Yankee" and essentially said that it is goodbye. He could end up with the Cubs or Angels, and a few other teams, but those are two notable suitors that he might actually be interested in.

As for the Yankees situation, I hope Girardi is a flop, and I'm glad A-rod opted out, maybe I will actually like him on another team. Torre coaching the Dodgers, rumor, but if true could spell trouble for my Padres in the West. Rivera and Posada, I think they'll end up staying but I would like to see them go elsewhere and see them help out another team.

Torre just got signed but you shouldn't be that worried. Grady Little was a very good coach so it's not like Torre is that much better. I'm not saying Torre is bad because both are great coaches.

That actually made me laugh. A lot. A privelage? Not only do the Yankees suck lately, but it's a privelage to be on ANY Major League Baseball team cuz you have to be at LEAST decent. Other than that, I see no reason why being on the Yankees is such a privelage over all the other teams. If they kicked ass and won most of their games and many World Series' then MAYBE it would be significant. But right at the moment, the guy who said that just made himself look like a fool and a jerk.
And the sweep made me happy. Of COURSE Boston swept the Angels, they even swept the FINAL GAMES!!! ^_^

I'm a Yankee fan, and I have to say that I hate Hank Steinbrenner. He is the biggest idiot ever. It is unfortunate that the Yankees will be owned by Steinbrenners for generations to come.
I agree, the Steinbrenners are one family full of idiots. The sons seem to be worse than George was, which is not a good thing for Yankee fans, but great for Yankee haters. I don't think the Yankees will win a WS in this decade, because they have proved to everyone that talent bought will lose to talent with chemistry so unless they develop some chemistry in that club house I don't see them beating the Red Sox next year, who have a great core team. Also if A-rod ends up in Anaheim that spells trouble for the AL, because they're already a decent team, but with A-rods bat they could be lethal.

while i dont like Hank steinnbrenner and the way they are handeling Rivera and Posada and the way they treated Toree. It is a privelage in a way. Theres so much history with the Yanks hes saying you will be in that history. To be compared with the great Yanks, Mantle, Berra, Dimmagio, Ruth etc. Also, they have won many world series. 26 in history. they havent won since 2000 but you cant say they havent won many WS. But i understand what you mean, he was acting like a jerk saying that. hes full of himself. Its amazing, Rivera and Posada are loyal Yankees and they are taking there time while the Mets are talking to Posada..... These Steinbrenners are terrible. They dont know what they are doing

I don't believe that it is a privilege at all. To play for the biggest idiots in baseball is punishment in my eyes, though it is the selfish players fault to go somewhere for more money. It is the privilege of the owners of the teams the players go to, because that means the great players feel like they can trust the management of the team their going to. I have no real sympathy for either side, I just have less for the Steinbrenners. I hope Posada ends up on the Mets and Rivera goes elsewhere, because the way the Yankees have handled their free agents they deserve better. Pretty soon you're just going to have Giambi, Abreu, and Jeter as for a core team. Not impressive at all from my perspective.
