I think it should be a little earlier than December, or even septmeber for that matter.
The n00b flood of 07 was bad :P, But I distinctly remember us thinking the new members last year were bad!
I'd say August or earlier are real veterans.

demon is right. towards christmas is when the flood came. shortly after my arrival is when i saw all the idiots begin to post. it was before i was a mod (5.2.07)
it would have to be thanksgiving time when the wii came out and barely anyone could get one.
that would be the best for the vets. no accomidations of "post count" or "rep" because anyone can get those. you cant fake time on
Uhh... Well I'll think of making an acception. You contributed to the forum.
And if you're not gonna become a Vet., then you can always just join as a regular member.
