so my father has always liked the oldschool neons, he's driven a 1999 neo for 6 years, and now he's moving on to a 2007 toyota matrix.
its a win win situation for me though
we get a newer more comfetareable car
an i get to keep the neon wooooooo, not the nicest car in the world oiously. but definetly a great start as my first car

Yep, short/long arm (SLA) double wishbone, cast aluminum upper & lower control arms, transverse-mounted composite leaf spring, monotube shock absorbers.

That's cool, a Neon a terrific car, especially for your first ride!

No not at all (BTW, the reasoning behind the question was so simple to predict). In fact, the C6 offers near luxury level ride compliance and the ride comfort concern hasn't been an issue since the mid-80's (the early C4's were brutal, but were incredible performers).
A couple of additional points:
First of all, it's a SPORTS CAR - if you're looking for the optimum in ride comfort, look elsewhere. I'm assuming you've never ridden in a Porsche, BMW M car, F-Car, Lambo, etc.? M cars and offerings like the GT3 are BRUTAL, the latter being barely usable as day-to-day transportation.
Secondly, I'm assuming you've listened to WAY too much rhetoric from British TV car show hosts Do you have any understanding of suspension engineering and exactly what a transverse leaf spring does? Hint: it's exactly like a coil spring - i.e., a spring is a spring is a spring (modern implementations have nothing to do with locating suspension elements - this is a critical design distinction). I made a point in my previous post about indicating the sophisticated SLA setup to make this clear.

Hahaha, that's OK, I *love* Top Gear and 5th Gear
Even the scorching negative reviews [of US cars] from Jeremy make me smile (I believe he compared the suspension of the modern Vette to a Korean donkey cart ) Heck, 5th Gear does the same yet gave the Z06 the 2006 "Best Fast Car" award over some pretty stout [European] competition (not to mention Jeremy's love/hate of US produced cars like the FGT).
The contemporary execution of the TLS really has nothing to do with the old leaf spring design and has several huge advantages over conventional helical steel springs or torsion bars ranging from packaging efficiency to durability.

Top Gear is a quality program, but it is a joke sometimes, and they do take the piss out of american cars. think they had the new mustang, and they took it to the straightest road in england because it won't go round corners. I think the main problem is, with say for example your big 4x4's they are mainly for driving around the country in britain (although you do get a few that are used on the school run) and most of them are not going to drive down the small country lanes we have. so they don't exactly give them good reviews from that point of view.

Sort of @BOB
So I'm shipping my wheels first (since I have stockers to use temporarily) - Wow, hahaha, well:
A) The passenger front is basically flat (but it's just sitting in the garage so no biggie I guess). Actually both of the fronts are corded out from a so-so alignment a pre-resurfaced Roebling Road (it's a tire eater).
2) I wasn't really thinking about the larger Z51 brakes, then I recalled the debate about Z06 stockers fitting - OMG, the fronts are TIGHT - there's some tire boogers from my last track event, can't be bigger than like a BB (like from an air rifle) and when you spin the wheel you can hear them go TICK TICK TICK. I bet it's 2mm at the most clearance between the caliper and the inner barrel (the wheels I'm trading and replacements are larger so no clearance issues).
I hope I don't have a "need to drive my car" emergency

I just need to state that I officially hate cars, and have THE WORST luck of anyone in the whole world with them.
Needless to say, I will be getting a new one soon.
I want the Cadillac CTS.

It's kind of love/hate with me - I really enjoy them, but I constantly tinker, so I'm always creating my own hassles The guy across the street thinks I'm nuts. The CTS is a super nice ride and Caddy Q&A has been superb for the past few years!

My sister got a Mustang today!!!
'01 Mustang GT Coupe
302 ci engine, completely stock
Brand new set of Gatorbacks on it
Pics: (Again, I apologize for my crappy quality pictures. It was dark outside and my digital camera doesn't do well in the dark)

This means that I get a working vehicle, instead of the Datsun at the top of the page . My sister wont be needing her Taurus anymore, so I will be driving it.

Cadillac is one brand I have never respected and probably never will. I find it funny how companies like them are always the first to point out all of the competitors "weaknesses" (if you can call a 500hp V10 'weak'). BMW doesn't take on specific models. They build the cars they're famous for, and brands such as Cadillac and Kia/Hyundai build cars afterwards directly for the soul purpose of dethroning BMW. I don't recall a single advertisement when the new M5 came out showing it smothering the old CTS-V in numbers, because it simply didn't need to. It was a BMW M5, it didn't need to prove anything.
