Sorry, I don't know much about computers, but for that price, if it doesn't play games exceptionally, it's a rip-off.

Sony's are a little pricey - they have exceptional aesthetics, but if you're interested in a good gaming rig, the main concern is CPU/memory and video performance.

Alienware is just about to release their new machines with the new 8800M GTX GPU's which should be smoking for mobile solutions.

You could put together a 17" wide, HP with a 8600GS mobile nVidia, and the same specs for a few hundred cheaper as well (better video, bigger display, less money).

Again Sony puts together a nice machine, I just find them a little pricey if compare specifications.
