One race I was on earlier, I was just a few seconds away from winning when I get: blue shell, followed by POW block, followed by red shell. Dropped down to last.
Fortunately I kicked their asses in the next round.

The POW block and the red shell, not so bad. But the blue shell I find completely unfair, because there's no way to defend against it. I think they should have put in a short period of temporary invincibility after being hit by something.
(I had a feeling something was something was up on your end, especially on that Koopa Cape race.)
