Personally, I'd say that music is neither good nor bad. It's just, music. And people either like a particular song or they don't, but that isn't enough to make it good or bad, nothing is. Same with all of the arts I guess.

If someone likes a song that goes, "Beep...beep...boop, bop, beep...[repeating]", that's great, but I refuse to let he/she call that "good music". I'm not saying the instruments have to be crazy fast and the lyrics have to be top notch, but I don't call [insert big rap artist here]'s latest song featuring the typical synthesizer tune with lyrics about gangsters, guns, hos, etc. good music. Sorry.

I see your point, but as I said music shouldn't really be classed as good or bad, since whatever it is, it's still music. Whether it's talented or not is a different matter, but I could start tapping this desk and it's still music. It's like those pieces of art that are just literally a dot on a page. Surely it's not talented, but it's still art.

I definitely aggree with that.
My music teacher told us that when going to a concert with someone from Africa(I think, can't remember story in detail), he asked the person what their favorite part was the beginning part.
And by the beginning part he did not mean the first song, he meant the tuning of the instruments.
People have different tastes in music and they will think that people with opposing tastes like "bad music", but in reality there is no such thing as bad music because that bad music is good music to another person.
