GUNPOWDER! Forgot about that! And it has to be BLACK. None of that smokeless stuff, that's too sharp. The black powder has like...a hint of sulfur, like rotten eggs, but the good side of them.  And it also has good connotation of blowing a .50 caliber ball through something...

freshly burnt home-made fireworks (the illegal kind which I make)
if you make 'em with alot of magnesium, they have a sort of sweet sulfur smell (it also makes them potentially blinding  )

I also forgot about cigarette smoke! it's meant to be quite a horrible smell, personally I love it. (DAMN I love the smell of all things that aren't good for you, I should see someone)

Cig smoke is nasty, even when I smoked I hated the scent. Pipe tobacco smells nice though.
My favorites are:
Burning cinnamon
Chronique
Opium
Taco meat
Some perfumes, some are just overwhelming though(I don't know the names of any)

I actually like the smell of petrol sometimes. I use to be in love with it, I'd open the window every time we stopped at a gas station. But now its just like "meh".
