Nintendo announced they would not showcase any core titles at E3 anymore, and just show casual stuff. So yeah E3 is screwed now.

Question time.
1.
Reason and emotion are two very different ways of "knowing". Not too long ago, a member named navarre posted a thread claiming that a life without emotion would be an ideal life. Pretty much everyone disagreed with him; it's obvious that emotion is an important part of people's fundamentals here. For instance, without emotional knowledge there would be no knowledge that murder, etc. is wrong. However, emotion cannot be relied upon solely. Reason is also an important part of knowledge.
The law system is based on a combination of emotional and rational knowledge. My questions to you are:
- In today's society, do you feel that emotional or rational knowledge is regarded as more important?
- In a perfect world, how would the two balance out? Would we be equally dependent on both ways of knowing, or would you place emotion as more important than reason, or vice versa?
2.
What are your feelings towards euthanasia? Do you believe in the absolute sanctity of human life, or are there exceptions to this rule? Are there situations where it's okay to "kill"?
3.
If you were to be remembered for one thing from your life, what would it be? What would be your "legacy"?
4.
Are there ever cases where the importance of a human's life is less than that of an animal's? Peter Singer argued that it would be more ethical and sensible for a human who was truly and utterly unconscious to the world, and so, had no capacity for enjoyment of life (someone who suffers from an acute mental illness, for example) to be scientifically tested on that in would be to do scientific tests on a completely health animal. He wasn't supporting scientific testing on the disabled, but he argued that it would be more "humane" to do the tests on something without feelings/capacity for enjoyment.
Yeah. Questions.

-Both equally.

If it's agonizing pain that will last the rest of their lives, perhaps. I would feel better about it if they were able to make the decision themselves.

I don't really care if I'm know worldwide or not. (Inventing something or discovering something would be pretty awesome though.) Just as long as I'm known as a goodly, upstanding person in my community.

-No, never. A human, even without any "physical attachment" to this world, has a soul, which no animal will ever have. =/
