what if there was this girl who was born in a black-and-white room
she was black-and-white
her eyes have the ability to see colour, but she NEVER HAS
a colour virgin, to borrow some sexual terminology
but she watches (on her b/w tv) videos explaining colour
exactly what it's like
scientists, poets, authors
all describe colours
and then ONE DAY someone opens the previously-locked door
and she sees colour.
WOULD SHE BE EXPERIENCING SOMETHING NOVEL?
or would her TOTAL UNDERSTANDING of what colour experience is like mean she's actually not getting anything new?
To sum up the question:
Does she REALLY know what color is like from everyone explaining it, or does she finally figure it out when she experiences it?

I don't necessarily believe that the U.F.Os that have been spotter were actually from extraterrestrial beings, but I do believe that extraterrestrials exist.

Of course UFO's are real. I've seen many objects flying that I couldn't necessarily identify on the spot.
As for extraterrestrial life, I don't really care. Its not affecting my life now and I highly doubt it ever will, so I've got no reason to have an opinion either way. I'll wait until we get proof.
