I can swim easily enough, but for some reason I have an aversion to swimming in the sea (near beaches = fine, deeper waters = no), because I keep thinking about the jellyfishes and stuff in it.

That was on QI!

Stephen Fry gave it as a gift to Price Charles!

I love French vanilla cappuccino from over your way, DT. My aunt picks some up for me while she's out there, Folgers and/or Hills Bros.

Hahaha, yeah, I saw it on this show (though haven't had it myself):

http://www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Bizarre_Foods

The host travels all over the world and eats foods from ranging from the slightly odd to the incredibly bizarre. Caught an EP where he was drinking the coffee made from beans collected from the critter (I was thinking it was like a lemur).

The last one I saw he was at the snake festival somewhere off the Pacific Rim - ate snake meat stir fried, snake skin deep fried (like pork rinds) and ground bone blackened and served on flat bread.

Anyway, yeah, I would definitely try to the poop coffee

Question for DT: What kind of chilled coffee drinks do you recommend?
There is a Starbucks really close and I've been meaning to go in, but I never have.

I've gotten Starbuck's ice coffee (if that's what you're talking about), it's great, I think. I'm a big ice coffee fan though.

That reminds of this guy on our TV who goes round the world trying different things. He was in a tribe this one time and got absolutely off his face on the local 'drug', it was very interesting!

When my mum tries it, I'll have to let you know how it goes down! Although I've never really been a coffee drinker (I love the smell, never really made a coffee to my tastes though), I'll probably try it as well.

Oh wow, I think any of the coffee based stuff is pretty delicious. They tend to be *very* sweet, so I usually don't drink them too much.

I like the Espresso Frappuccino and recently the Wifey tried one of the Honey based Cappuccinos which I bet would be super good in a cold/Frapp version too.

Oh yeah, the Iced Peppermint White Chocolate espresso is very good - not as think as "icey" as the frapps.

If you can find it (we just bought like 10 packages) the Starbucks Drinking Chocolate is AMAZING. It was sort of a holiday thing, but we've been scoring it from one specific grocery store. It's little cubes of chocolate you melt into milk to make hot chocolate, but it's 100X better than any powder based mix I've ever had. They have like a triple choco, peppermint choco and a marshmellow choco. (even though I understand you don't like hot drinks).

Iced Peppermint White Chocolate espresso is pretty much the most orgasmically delicious sounding thing evar. I wonder if they're open late.

Also, those cubes sound heavenly (they seem hard to get, but I'll try eBay or asking someone on Livejournal to buy some for me...there are some great girls that do custom purchasing, that's how I get my favorite American snack Combos :P) I don't hate hot chocolate as long as there's half a bag of marshmallows in it, and the fact that there's a marshmallow flavored one...ahh! Thank you for your suggestions, I think I'll be going tonight ;D

Hehe well Iowa and Missouri are pretty much vast fields of corn. I spent last summer in Cali, it was amazing. I wish all my family and friends didn't live in the midwest.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand a change of topic.

[Disclaimer: I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. I am asking this question to potentially gain knowledge on the subject]

TOPIC: Beauty Pagents - What's the big deal?

My response: I doubt I'll ever be able to understand how a person can be proud of an accomplishment that they took no part in achieving. Okay, so maybe you went on a little diet and put on some make-up, but other than that...? Why not name them 'Luckiest person' contests, or 'God loves you the most' contests? I just find it ironic that people are being given awards for something that is 99% someone else's work.

Prove me wrong.

EDIT:

Damn you, Adam.

I am neutral in all things fashion. I don't care what anyone wears.
