Why yes it is! Everyone should have the right to good health, it shouldn't be a pivilege. I mean, if someone is born in financial difficulty already, and has health problems, you're basically denying them the right to live comfortably. It's the least we could do.

I know people in my country are pissed off for paying for the poor people, but my family has really benefited from free health care. If that means higher taxes, then keeping everyone healthy is worth it. I'm sorry, but that should just always be the main priority.

Mental health, I don't know, there's a certain line that needs to cross to be government funded, but I believe a lot of things can be solved with natural highs. I also do not support plastic surgery on the NHS, that's absolutely ridiculous.

There's also that issue of treating people who don't learn lessons, like alcoholics. But if there's an emergency, I bloody don't want people to check whether they're rich or not to treat them, you go and sodding save their life.


Not money, I have very little of it myself. But things like clothes, that I don't really need when I grow out of, or that I just grow to detest, they're going to the Sally Army.

I think you don't understand the American system...if a poor person without insurance needs the ER, he still will get treatment under the tax-payer's dime.

Oh, I missed the charity question.

I'm like Emma, personally. I don't have a lot of my own money, so I can't really give much. I do give $28 to World Vision every month, I have a sponsored child I call my little sister, her name is Jeanne and she's 12.

I also give away clothes, accessories, even makeup...anything really. At Christmas there are places you can give all kinds of stuff for kids in different age groups. I always give for teenage girls, because when I go in, all I see are mounds and mounds of toys. Older kids seem to get forgotten. So I go buy heaps of inexpensive makeup and stuff that less fortunate teenage girls would probably enjoy. That kind of stuff is probably a luxury they don't get normally. So that coupled with tons of my clothes I hope someone out there appreciates.

My mom gives a lot to charity on behalf of my immediate family.

There are certain things I cant wait to do when I'm financially stable on my own. I'd love to donate musical instruments and art supplies to after-school programs, and of course donate a bunch of food to them as well. Those kinds of programs where kids can have a good breakfast before school, when they wouldn't eat barely anything during the whole day at home, really touch my heart.
Also, oh my god. Ever seen those books where it shows you how a little bit of money can feed an entire village in Africa? My mom bought heaps of fruit trees and rice and medicine and water-cleaning equipment and stuff for so cheap, and it's going to feed entire villages for like a year! I reeeeally can't wait to be able to give like that.

Then they're just chucked back out in the real world to pay for prescription medication? Keeping them alive by a thread isn't my thing. Free dental, schooling, health care all around! ;D

If I was rich enough, I'd give to charity, but obviously I'd leave something on the side for the family and such.

If you could change your ethnicity, would you? Whether it be because you love a certain country, or you'd like to experience not being a visible minority, or whatever.

On that scale I think I'd be about 7.5 also, but it depends on the context- I support free health care because like Emma I think everyone has the right to expect treatment regardless of income. On the other hand, for non-essential services I think that unnecessary state intervention hurts the economy.
