Where did you get those from? I say the latter in all of them, I've never heard anyone say: he went to the park and LIGHTED a cigarette, everyone just says lit.

And I don't think the "Nazis" of the site even care about those picky things.
They're, there, and there is all we ask for! Capitalize proper nouns and the first word of a sentence.
I know I often start sentences with "and" quite a lot on here.

Commas, periods and apostrophes are your friends.

At least in journalistic form, it is correct.
The 2008 edition of the Associated Press style book states several inconsistencies with the dictionary. Lit/Lighted is one of those inconsistencies. Sure, you can use lit. "Lit" is a recognized form of the word. However, "lighted" is the actual correct usage. I know, it's weird.
Kind of like how "gray" is the recognized correct usage. Not "grey". However, society has adapted both ways and they are most likely both recognized in the dictionary.

i'm confident in my intelligence and writing ability. no scum on the internet is going to make me think i'm not intelligent and not talented.
however, after speaking to adam it's become apparent that perhaps my lack of capitalization takes away from my posts. since it's basically an aesthetic and laziness issue, i'm going to give it a shot. i think.

I think you have that backwards. Most trolls are not Grammar Nazis; I'm sure the majority are arrogant in other ways. IE: "I CUN PWN U IN BRAWL."
The master race refers to Pan-Aryanism. Hitler himself had Jewish blood...
