What you are referring to is a Proxy, i would presume that doing such a thing would be at least frowned upon by the system administrators. Trying to bypass the blocking will most likely get you banned or at least in a bit of trouble from your system administrators.
Lol in my school when I unplug a grey cable on the back on the computer then log in, I get full administatory rights, I could delete my whole schools accounts

You just have to search around for different proxies. I have to find a new one every other day because the administrator catches on to the fact that I am getting on myspace and other blocked sites. My school is pretty lenient when it comes to blocking sites though, because they usually have youtube unblocked.
Try satandeathkill.com. It's not a bad site.
It worked for about two weeks when I found it, but the admin eventually caught on.

last question can they find out u are using it by just going to the website to see if it works
They can find out you are using it just by looking into your account and seeing all the websites you've visited. They usually give you a warning before they cancel your account (as long as your not looking at pr0ns), so you should get an idea of how strict they are.

Just play the computer games (if it is a microsoft computer), like Solitaire, Hearts and Pinball. If those arent in Accessories then search around in the school files for a while. The games are hidden, not deleted. Once you find them copy and paste them into a folder on your account.
get a thum drive them make a rip from any game you have. then youre all set.

Ahh I remember when we had to use one of them. I can't remember what it is though. We got found out and got absolutely b*llocked though, we weren't allowed back on the system until our parents had signed a letter allowing us : / obviously they weren't assed though so just signed it.
People used to do what Happy is talking about as well. So much s**t went on with that though.

to be honest it's easier than that.
they will no doubt have a list of all incoming and outgoing connections, stating what each user is connecting to. they don't even have to look at an account.
