It was funny how after the last discussion about this, the people who were so pro-spelling correctly went on to listen to the people who didn't type correctly. Even though they were all like 'I AM SUPERIOR', and told the forum how they didn't pay attention to anybody who didn't type correctly.
Lock?
gud kall.
And yeah, when people wanna type like a doofus lyk dat, I just don't read their posts. So, if they wanna be noticed, type proper like y'hear?
If somebody hasn't taken the time to write using at least vaguely correct English (and obviously everybody makes mistakes), why should one bother reading their post when they haven't put attention into something they want other people to read? I appreciate that not everybody receives the same level of education and English has a lot of complexities in it.
Basically all I care for is:
Medium to good spelling.
Use of apostrophes only if you know how to use them.
Punctuation
Long posts split up into paragraphs
No texting slang (that just doesn't make sense - it often takes longer to type)
so wen i was lernin shakespeer at skool it was all lyk not in propa english an stuff lyk that that guy was an ideot if e cudnt spell. if i put the tym in i cud be lyk im. but it wont get me a job.
It's the same thing. If you use proper English then we're all on common ground. Don't make everyone's life difficult because you're a lazy halfwit.

I try to type as perfect as possible. It bugs me a lot if some one doesn't cappitalize the word "I". I just hate that! It also irks me if someone does'nt use caps at all. I also dislike "texting".

Let's face it, it really is wrong to judge people purely on their grammar.
So it's OK to judge them about 99% on grammar?
I no how grammer works, i post corektly most of teh tim.
In all seriousness, most people with poor grammar on here aren't the sharpest tools in the shed; the only member I can think of atm who breaks this rule is Sovieto.
I try to post with as much intelligence as possible when it comes to grammar. Never gotten any complaints or anything. Lately I've gotten a little more lax with commas and stuff, but usually only for comedic effect or whatevaa. I also use some abbreviations like 'btw' and 'atm' pretty commonly, and then there's the l33t 5p34k...but, those don't bother me (as long as they're not overused).
When I read posts though, even if I don't point it out, I find all mistakes because...that's just the way I be.

Recently I have been trying to use better spelling and grammar because I can type faster than ever now, but for the most part I think grammar should go die.
It really isn't that important as long as you get across what you are trying to say and you don't sound like a moron.

I see that on car forums all the time where the title is meant to indicate they bought a new-to-them vehicle (so they mean to write "new", but always migrate the quotes to a strange position like JUST "GOT" A NEW CAR).
We were following behind this car and it had a sign in the window - it was being towed by another car. I applaud the folks for trying to be safe, but it read: CAR -N- TOW
I want to tell them that: a) -N- is short form/colloquial/slang for AND (so it would read CAR AND TOW ) and b) they could have saved a stroke by just writing IN

(EDIT: For those unfunny members, DRMARIO and AndThen?, yes the apostrophe was intentional, read the now bolded text)
You mean for those members without a sense of humor. Unfunny doesn't work in this situation as it relates to how funny they are. Is unfunny even a word?
Looked it up, I guess it is, not that anyone really uses it.
