And that's very true. You could repel an attacker just as easily with a baseball bat or a steak knife as you could a firearm. Or even your security system could have police there before you need to resort to any of that. I live in an apartment where there's no security system and bought my shotgun primarily for recreational purposes. So far I spend all my time using it to shoot clay pigeons instead of deviants. I'd like it to stay that way.

This question is directed at everyone who said they would knock the stranger out.
How would you get to the burglar before he had time to whip out his gun? If you watched that video that rainbowii put up then you would see that even in a struggle the guy with the gun will be on top. You will get shot if you attack him.

Yeah since all robbers have guns, huh? If they do have a gun, it's most likely going to be a weak sauce pistol, which could only really do damage if your shot in the head or heart. You just gotta run at them in a zig-zag so it's harder to be hit and whack the gun out of their hand.

You'd wait for them to come to you, make them make the noise and you don't have to be worried about taking the full blow. They may run up the stairs to see if anyone's home or something, you hiding until they're lowered into a false sense of security is the best way. Although you may not be able to do this because..Common reaction is probably to shoot them (AMERICANS!

i dont care if its new york or wagga wagga. the fact remains is that there is a lot more homes that DONT get broken into than ones that do.

I dont need a gun...all i need is my trusty survival knife and im ready!

I have 5 in my home and i have 2 under my bed cushion!

You only have 5 knives in your house?
