Yeah, my ones practically fallen to pieces.. the clip to open the lid has broken off.. the lid can't hold itself up without tape.. the wire has to be hold up with my wallet to work.. etc.. It's lasted a long while..
So yeah, my Dad's said I can choose one upto £500 on here:
Will you be traveling a lot? Will you need it portable? Or will it generally be able to be plugged into the wall all the time?
What sorts of things do you do with your computer? What would you like to do in the future?
My intentions for it for the next year are really to use plugged into a wall, and use it in the car occasionally. So at times, yeah I'll need it portable.
Then the year after I intend on going to University, in which it'll come with me to wherever it's needed (unsure how much the portability will be used there P
Generally don't use it for much, not any hi-tech gaming or anything. I use it for graphics works for school and the odd game here and there.
In the future, I really don't know. Possibly any updated graphics related programs (maybe if I go into Architecture or something - though I'm not sure) or maybe the odd game.. though I understand these laptops may not be 'powerful' enough or whatnot for that kinda thing.
ta again.
edit: of course I didn't include the likes of writing essays and going on MSN yada yada, 'cause I assume any laptop would be able to really P:
That one's pretty nice. I could find it here for 400 pounds, but that's just how America works.
The graphics you do shouldn't need more than 2GB RAM, even a 1.8Ghz processor should do you fine unless you really like to keep lots of windows running at the same time.
Still has a pretty big harddrive for saving all that artwork.
Wow, yeah that is better.. especially the harddrive size.
And yeah, the site takes forevur to load.
Whole reason I've linked to that is because you can pay weekly to buy items - thus why my Dad told me to look there.
I can always try and persuade though.
Thanks Gaz.
That Fujitsu is a great deal! I wish I could have seen that before I bought mine...
If you can't get that one, the Toshiba is a great computer. I can personally vouch for that. I have a Satellite with the same specs as this one, but with a faster processor, and it runs fine. I've had it for over a year, and it still works great.

These = v. similar to that Fujitsu one amiright? Reading through one of them the specs seem it.
I realised the price range can be excluded.. 'cause I can pay towards it weekly myself..
(Without wishing to ignite a Windows/Apple debate) for a few quid more you could have one of these .. .. .. .. http://store.solutions-inc.co.uk/product/961 .. .. .. .. but you'd have to search for a retailer offering a payment plan. It's smaller and lighter (so more portable) than the other machine you're looking at.
Realistically though you might be better off looking in ASDA or Tesco at some of the deals they have there like these ones I've found on the Tesco website... .. .. although other people might be able to determine if they are value for money or not.
Yeah that looks pretty decent. I'll do some research on both.
And a bit misleading the one I linked to, as the picture has 'Windows Vista Home Premium' on the picture..
I assume by the way you say that that it's a much better idea to get Premium over Basic (which seems pretty obvious also aha).
I could always buy/'buy' Premium seperately though, right?
And also not really a Mac fan Captain, sorry. But ty anyway (:
