Windows Vista..
Yeah, most the new laptops I've been looking at have this, and basically I wanted to know the low-down of it - because I'm used to having an XP laptop/computer.
I've read on various review websites, and they've said how it doesn't come with Office.. it's difficult to connect various hardware.. and some software doesn't work at all?
So I tried to find somewhere which gave some advantages and disadvantages of it.. and whether there's way of bi-passing problems that I've ready about it; as well as your own opinions on it.
A-thankyou again (;

here is some lowdown i know
i bought a laptop not too long ago, and it came with windows vista i said "oh neat" 3 weeks later i downgraded back to XP
know why
vista is horrible, mine didnt come with office, its not compatiable with anything, too much security *a warning before you start like every program*
i say, if you can, downgrade to vista when you get your laptop or wait till they come out with vita service pck 2 or something, cause right now vista is a joke
though it does look pretty....

I agree. After fooling around with Vista at my nephew's house, it was way to buggy and the interface was not organized, or simple, as the XP version. Many programs still are not compatible with Vista and there isn't much of an upgrade from XP. Slowdowns are a big problem with it as well. The only changes I see is a little facelift, but everything else they added seems to be for the worse. If you can, I recommend you downgrade to XP, if you like the Vista works, then go for it.

Vista probably isn't that great for laptops.
I don't know what crappy versions of vista you guys got though, mine came with everything.

I don't have any problem with Vista. The security thing does get annoying, but all you have to do is click "OK" and it goes away.

Why not just get that Fujitsu Laptop that's dual booted with Vista & XP? If you don't like Vista, You can Delete the partition that it's on and have the full 250 GB HDD for running XP.
Just a thought...

I don't actually mind vista, although XP is better. but if you give vista a chance, and edit all the settings so that you get it to run and look how you want then maybe it can be better than XP for you.
Now to actually 'downgrade' you would have to wipe the current instillation of Vista, and then install XP on that partition.
With the laptop i showed you earlier with twin install, you would simply just delete the Vista partition, and then re-use it as something else - or merge it with a current partition.

'Cause though it's shit hot, my Dad can't pay in one go.. he needs to pay over time ): there's like 52 week plans on that GreatUniversal thing..
If you replied saying 'you can do that on ebuyer' I'll love you forevz.
Edit: ah I see. I'm just curious as if I'd still be able to say.. install all my hardware whilst using Vista? 'cause apparently it's hard.
I want that Fujitsu laptop D:

you could hire someone to isntall it for you, they usually have XPsp2 them selves
