It is an EXTREMELY good quality lens.

Better quality than my other 2, and fisheye lenses arent meant to be sharp, so it was kinda worth the oney... ridiculous I spent that much on it though.

I've been meaning to get a new camera as well, but I can't quite find the one thats right for me. I don't really care about portability either, I just want a good quality camera that will take high quality pictures.

I say go for any camera that uses SD cards.

Consider the Canon's, theyre good quality.

Nissan N15 Pulsar GA16DE 1.6L DOHC engine. it must of hit something pretty bloody hard to do that. that bulge you see in the first pic. thats probably the engine on the other side

yeah Conons are really good Camera's mine old and needs replacing (like 5 years old lol) but its 2 megapixels, but i love canons cause they make that 2 look more like 3.

cause sometimes you can get really good looking 2 M and then ones that look more like 1 M

Yeah Megapixels doesnt equal quality....it equals size.

i saw some photos taken with a 2MP dSLR.... better quality than 8MP compacts.

not possible. The MP is a constant, and can't be changed (well some cameras you can change it to go lower if you want a smaller picture, but that won't increase the quality) so if a camera is a 2mp one, then it will only take pictures that are 2mp in size (or around 1600×1200).

what you are trying to refer to is the quality of the image, which is determined by the quality of the CCD, the more expensive camera, hopefully the better quality the CCD. The CCD is the group of image sensors that turn the light that goes through the lens into a digital image that can be stored on digital media. obviously when you go for cameras like the cannon dSLR's then your going to get a damn decent CCD, and with the right knowledge in knowing how to use the camera, your going to get some damn good quality photo's.

The only thing that MP really matters is printing size. most of the time you don't print any larger than a4, so there isn't really much need for any larger than a 3MP camera.

Gaz is right.

I think all that DavidUK is saying, is that hes seen some very bad quality 3MP photos, and they have been so bad they look like 1MP quality.

2MP camera phones look about VGA quality in low light, but in strong light they can look similar to a 2MP photo taken with a dedicated camera.

Having a lens and sensor the size of the head of a pin will do that, the lenses dont allow that much light in, nor is the sensor very sensitive to light, so it must amplify any signal it receives (increase the ISO) which adds noise and blotchiness to the image, which in effect removes most detail and sharpness.

My camera's sensor is about the size of a normal piece of film, and the lenses are about 10cm across+, so they let in a lot of light with minimal amplification of the signal, and hence result in clearer images.

And then theres different aperture settings...and shutter speeds...and exposure compensation....

Ah gotta love photography.
