Is it possible...
...for me and my friend to play co-operatively together online on 2 different Wiis? Basically, can we play on the same side with him on his Wii and me on mine?

Damn i need to think about this one.
I think you can because when you set up a match, you have the choice to put your controller on 'home' or 'away' so i guess you can both select home then you wil be doin co-op. I need someone to confirm this, I cant remember

Yes there is. its called mario strikers charged, its only out on europe. I have the game, i should know. You and a friend can play on the same team if desired.

Sorry, guitarman, your answer seems vague. I know we can play when we are in person on the same Wii, but does it work when I'm on my Wii and he's on his?

Yeah you can, I think it will work, but you'll be playing the CPU..
I'm not 100% but I'm fairly sure you can, I guess all you can do is try it out =]

You can in a friendly match. You can't in a ranked match, the only way to play co-op ranked is to be on the same Wii.
