How Do You Counter Hammer Spam?

i've noticed people use hb to score goals when i am leading, i try to wait right after they hammer to slide tackle but i always get nailed !

anyone know how to counter this?

since hammer is so slow, wait til he deke's then slide. or just dont let him get the ball simple as that. remember practice makes perfect

you have to time it right but sometimes if your frustrated with the game you wont be able to do it.

yeah i try timing it but then i dont know ugh it just happens and i try sliding =/

Yeah, getting the timing down is important, but also you can not let the HammerBro get the ball in teh first place. if the goalie has it, get a fast player (dry bones, toad etc) and cover the hammer brother. Try to do what you can to take away that pass option.

dont run in from behind though because thats when your most gullible. run beside him and as soon as he does the deke and touches the ground do a big hit on him. and the good thing is he hardly ever gets an item for it.

double team the bro just in case you miss the slide tackle and be patient you don't always have to stop him right away.
