Ok, so after trying to do the Yoshi level on striker challenge, and facing jerks online that can lob a pass into the goal, I realize that after a certain point, that steady learning curve dies!

I ask the community of the three following things:

1. How do you use Yoshi's ability to accomplish the behind 5 goal challenge in the 'striker challenge' stage? I can run people over, but I can never get a chance to get a megastrike....5 goals in a little over a minute?!!

2. I've seen people on youtube where they use Yoshi's special and then end it at the bottom left corner of the goal line and it gets in every time...HOW?!!

3. For the love of everything, how do I get beyond the Striker Cup?!

4. How do I beat people online without stooping to their level?

5. Does Nintendo realize their overly simple online interface means that an incredibly newbie can easily face 13yr olds that whoops ass in under a minute? Come on, online gaming has been around years, you think Nintendo would increase the capabilities of who to sign and whatsoever.

and PS, I realize I ended up asking 5, not 3 questions

^ I would say use tricks (chips and such) if you can't get a Megastrike. Also lobbing the ball ALWAYS results in Wario's team hitting your player so you get an item. Using shells you can definitely pull off a Megastrike if you don't like chipping.

^ There are a lot of Yoshi egg tricks. I've heard of you chipping the ball from the halfline, rolling in the egg to catchup to the chipped ball, and hit it in over the goalie before it lands. The one trick you're talking about is 'Serve it in'. It's done by charging a chip a little, running near the goalie box, and effortlessly chipping the ball over the goalie's head and into the goal. It can be done with any character but Yoshi's is done easier because he can't be interrupted when he's charging his chip (his egg makes him invincible).

^ I haven't gotten that far 'cause I play online and don't see a reason to unlock Petey. Only advice = the CPU will always hit you, so if you can set them up you'll have A LOT of items. I don't think the computer knows how to steal a lob pass actually...

^ Actually they're not being 'wrong' since it's in the game for a reason. Every single trick can be stopped, so it's all fair. The trick you're talking about (the chip from the halfline) can be stopped by keeping a player near the goalie. When the chip is going over the goalie's head simply lob pass it to one of your characters. It's not an automatic goal, you can pass it away easily and catch them offguard 'cause they think it went in. My advice is work on defense and the trick-users will hurt themselves.

^ Matches are setup randomly. If you wanted to face complete newbies and win every single game you're sadly mistaken. I face ranked 11s and lower sometimes. I win. You get better when you go against harder challengers so be thankful for the random matchmaking.

I was going to say what the guy before me said about trick shots, then I saw he said it. Suck it up, there's a way to stop everything. Practice lob shots, they're really good.

And as far as the Yoshi thing is concerned, don't try to take Megastrikes, try to take high percentage shots, pass the ball around and deke to score, or give it to Yoshi at or around the goal line when the ball is white. White balls with balanced or higher shooters = 75% chance for goal with the right curve.

Knowing when to lob pass and when to ground pass is key too. The idea is to get the ball over the Crocodile Monster's head. If the ball is white, and your Toad is right by the Crocodile Monster, it has a real good chance of going in, even though he's a bad shooter. Balanced shooters are key right around the 18' line, and Shooters are good from just about anywhere. Try putting the ball in the air and taking shots from different places.
