Well, long ago I was contemplating getting one of these for my Wii.
But we just got a wireless router. Problem solved.
But now that I've got a DS, I've got a problem.
My family uses WPA security, and my dad will not change it to WEP.
So I'm saving up for the dongle thing. And I've got a question or two about it.
1. Will it work with my computer being off?
2. If it is in my room, could it get me on the interwebs to the living room, about 60 feet (I'm not sure about that, but I counted 21 steps.) and seperated by about 4 walls apart? (Though I heard it only gives about 30 feet)
I await the day I can play some good ole' DS games with y'all.

1. Nah it wont work with you're computer being off, it's a bum =/
2. That should be okay, my pc is in one corner of the house downstairs and my wii is in the opposite corner of the house upstairs and I get full connection, so you shouldn't have a problem there =]
