Will the Nintendo DS version of Guitar Hero, currently in development at Vicarious Visions, be titled Guitar Hero: On Tour? Trademark hunting blog Trademork found a trademark application for the title on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website, filed by Activision on January 19th. While the listing does not specifically mention the Nintendo DS (or any platform), it does apply to the following items:

Computer game software and related instruction manual sold together as a unit; interactive video game programs; computer game cartridges; computer game discs; downloadable software for use in connection with computer games; video game controllers; Interactive video game comprised of a cartridge or DVD sold as a unit with a video game controller.

As confirmed at the Austin GDC event last September, Guitar Hero for the DS will include some kind of peripheral attachment for use with the game. Potentially backing up this trademark filing is a Friday post from French website Wiiz.fr (via GoNintendo), which claims that Activision set a European release target of summer for Guitar Hero: On Tour for Nintendo DS, though the source of the information is unclear.

We know Guitar Hero is coming to the Nintendo DS, most likely in 2008, but will it be "On Tour" this summer? RedOctane could not comment on the title (as there's been no official announcement), so we may not know for sure (either way) until such an announcement comes along.
