Am I the only one excited about Yoga & Pilates?

I can't find any kind of feedback anywhere on the web about whether the almost-released titles "Let's Yoga" and "Let's Pilates" are any good! I looked at some Japanese promotional videos on YouTube, and I simply love Yoga and Pilates, so I went ahead and ordered them. Fingers crossed that they don't suck!

Really can't wait for Quick Yoga Training, My Weight Loss Coach, and Crosswords DS. I just LOVE all these "educational" games they are releasing for the DS! Finally I can just play games all day and still feel self-righteous about improving myself, rather than just actually playing games all day.

Now if I can just figure out some educational aspect to games like Tetris, Meteos, and Magnetica!

You must be pumped for Wii Fit! Sorry I can't give any feedback on those games though.

Very true, very true! Wii Fit should be a blast . . . I'm especially excited to see what other genius ideas the programmers come up with for the controller. They have blown me away with all the great ideas for just the Wiimote and nunchuck already!

As much as I love the Wii, I really find myself playing the DS much more. It's great when I'm stuck waiting somewhere, or when I want to hang out with my husband while he's watching some boring baseball game (with apologies to baseball fans)!

Tetris teachies the followin
One all your achements will one day dissapear
How to stack things
No matter how hard you try you will allways end up tryin to redo it
Never line up blocks
That a game tune can be a number one hit (TUTUTUTUTUTUTETRUS)
That four blocks can be used loads of diffrent ways

Damn Tetris is a major downer of a game

Well I have Let's Yoga and it's really good!
You have a 3d explanation of every Pose and movement.

Thanks so much Jan22!! That is very helpful - you seem to be the only person I can find who has even seen the completed project (or heard of the game). It looked totally in-depth in the very short YouTube clip, but you just never know.

I am actually a yoga instructor (and a Pilates instructor, coincedentally) so I am looking forward to some new inspiration. I get very complacent in my own practice, I tend to only do the poses that I like! And it is always such a good idea to learn new ways to explain them. Also I am training for some additional certifications so I'm hoping the games will help me study for my exams!

My husband suggested that I just buy one and see if I like it before ordering both . . . silly man, doesn't he know that I have to have ALL the games ever? He would probably go as far as to say I only need one pair of shoes too! Pwah!!

(actually the man makes some sense, but I never was one to listen to reason)

Okay, for anyone who is curious, I got both games yesterday! Best Buy and Gamestop don't seem to be stocking them (around where I live, anyway) but Amazon.com has plenty.

Let's Yoga is terrific! Good explanations, nice relaxing format, I especially like the way they illustrate the breath (expanding & contracting mandalas). This is so nice for people who feel they don't have 2 hrs/day to devote to attending yoga classes, just a nice little yoga break in your day! The fact that you can unlock new outfits for your little yogini is silly but kind of fun too. Only funky thing so far - for a new file, you select whether you are a "yogini" or a "yoggy." LOL, what is a yoggy???!

Let's Pilates feels like a rush job. Maybe I need to get more into it to discover its strong points, but the interface is not good - to learn the movements (Challenge Mode) you have to keep clicking "next" on the screen to move into the next part of the instruction, which means you have to lose your body position. Since most Pilates moves involve laying on the floor and having arms and legs in the proper position, you can't do that and click the touch screen at the same time. Also, the animation is very poor. The character does not show proper body position for the core AT ALL and the movements just don't flow smoothly. Anybody who does Pilates with an arched back like this avatar is going to wind up in traction!

I guess I can't understand why Konami could do such a good job with the animation and instruction in Let's Yoga and such a poor job for the other one. I wish they would have just delayed release for Let's Pilates and put as much effort into it as the Yoga game.

Looks like Ubisoft has delayed release on Quick Yoga Training and My Weight Loss Coach, so I'm very happy that I got both games these despite the problems with Let's Pilates. They are both going to be useful and interesting while I wait for the next fun thing to debut! Not to mention Wii Fit - that'll keep me busy too!

P.S. sure, I could just roll out my yoga mat and do all this with NO technology! This is fun though!
