meh you're probably right, i haven't played ssbm in a while...it worked for me cause i already had a lot of hours in gameplay

look, just set up a Vs match in mutiplayer, turn all items off, and just plug in two controllers so it's one on one. leave the game on, NOT paused (i learned that the hard way), while the two characters are just standing there, one day before you go to school, or work, or whatever.
when you get home, smash the player you DON'T want to use, then when it's over, a new challenger should approach.
