not many games available on the vc yet tho is there 
I run snes9x and its great. Got pretty much every ROM for it. Same goes with Gens, (Genesie/Mega Drive Emu). Cant beat the old days

I use snes9x once in a while but mostly zsnes. FIRE EMBLEM RULEZ FE4 & Thracia 776, extremely, a lot, highly recommended.

www.emuparadise.org and www.coolrom.com are good, but for emulators (emus only, no ROMs), go to www.zophar.net . ZSNES is the best, and may I suggest giving Ogre Battle a try? It's kind of a cross of Final Fantasy and Warcraft with it's own twist. Well worth a try.

I'm running linux for roms so just google it and not worry about viruses/spyware lol. mainly places that DONT have emu in the name. Too close to emo for me.

ZSNes is more complete, but I like the interface of SNes9x better. I use the latter when possible.
I use them to demo games available for VC.

I like ZSNES because you can netplay on it. I think it's pretty stable so you should get that one.

ZSNES or snes9x. I perfer ZSNES muuuuch more.
for GBA and all gameboy games, use visualboy advance
for MAME use Finalburn
N64, use project 64 or project 64k.
I have every game ever made  .
