2D-3D Transformations

Just as video games were hitting an intense period in which competition between companies escalated, a whole new twist was put on the games we came to know and love. Three dimensions. And so I'm asking, what games do you vividly remember transforming into 3D?

mario RPG lotss-when i bought that game my brothers and i were like "wow, the characters are so 3d, these are the best graphics ever!"
if you play it now, they look like poo compared to new graphics!

Ocarina of Time was pretty godly.

Kirby, Bomberman, Megaman(briefly), and obviously metroid. Of the four, only metroid survived the transition and stayed 3D... though bomberman 64 was pretty great imho.
