Just that the PS1 could do that so why not Wii...
Not insulting it here it rocks but it's 10 Years since a COnsole could do this. If Wii can't why.. Btw I have no CD player in my room

Ones Sony the other is Nintendo. The nes, snes, 64 and cube didn't play Cd's neither does the Wii
Can't really compare it to a Ps1.
Nintendo, did not put dvd and cd playback in because it is not a necessary feature. The majority of consumers have Cd players and other forms of dvd playback hardware already, putting this feature into the Wii would only have brought the cost of the device up, however marginally it may have been.
