good to stay on standby

is it good to leave it on stand by or power off after every use

Standby is fine. Thats how I leave it whenever I've not been playing it for the past month or so since I got the Wii.

I leave my on standby during the day, but turn it completley off when Im sleeping

I don`t know... maybe Nintendo purposely provided a default feature (ie, standby) that will destroy your Wii and anything within a 4` radius.

I have been using the Wii 24 connect since I got the Wii. Which is stanby, the Wii has a yellow light on. I have yet to have any problems!
