Should the front of my wii light up blue?

Mine isn't doing so. I thought it did and i went in the settings and nothing. In the manual it says nothing also. Is there something wrong with mine?

It just flickers really quick when you hit the power button.

Otherwise, like Wii_Smurf said, the only time it comes on is if someone sends you a message. To have this the Wii has to be connected to the internet, and you have to have gone ahead and added the person to your address book, and they must add you to theirs.
