Q's about sd cards

well i might get an sd card but i have some questions:

1. You can save game data on it right?

2. does the flap close when you have a SD card in? because my friend put his NGC memory card in the NGC card slot and it sticks out....

3. Can you change the settings so it saves onto the card automatically?

i am not so sure about the last one but i know the flap closes cause i tried it and i think you can save data on it but its supposed to be wii specific (attached to one wii- i think).
