Wired Connection

Heres the scoop. I have my router upstairs and my wii downstairs, when ever i want to buy points i have to move my wii to the main floor or search the internet etc. This has been a hassel for me so i bought a really long ethernet cable that goes all the way from my router upstairs to my wii downstairs but theres no ethernet jack in the back, what is it i have to buy to get wired connection to work?

I havent seen them at walmart, so my guess would be no. But on the subject, if i were to use that on my wired connection, would i get a 100mb/s connection? the WiFi adapter only gets 54mb/s

i'm not positive what it was, but there was a USB adapter at Best Buy when i went like 3 weeks ago. It was an official nintendo product. I think it was so you don't have to use a wire.
