Freezing System

I had a problem close to yours. First thing I did was go through the configurations a couple of times with nintendo surport. Then they asked me the IP of my Wii Console they then did something to it because it reset and started to redownload the bios again after that I have had no more problems with the freeze.

Your System is overheating I think may want to move it to an area where it can breath.

Is there direct light on your Sensor bar. I found out it you have those new light blubs that give you the So called White light that will also affect your bar. Sun light will also keep it from working correctly as well.

When you hit the synch button on the Wiimote I suggest hitting the on on the will behind the SD memory door as well.

The Wiimote isn't responding. The lights flash but it does nothing. It should be showing the first light but it does nothing. The batteries are brand new.

wiiconnect 24 overheating

My console sometimes blocks but I think it's because it gets overheated when it's in standby mode because of the wireless functionality.

During standby, the fan is deactivated but the wii gets very hot anyway.

I unplug my wii at night now.

I just got my component cables from Play-Asia. I've got a Toshiba (its a Projection screen), however it does have colourstream, and I thought it would be the same thing (as component display). However once connected and I turn on my Wii, if I put on 480p under Wii Settings, I get a bar down my TV and a split screen...weird no doubt. It works fine in 480i though, I guess my television is not an EDTV or at least does not handle progressive scan (unless the cables are busted....or my Wii ). Great price from Play-Asia though.

Anyone have the same problem?

I am having problems with the remote also. I have to turn it sideways for it to even work on the main menu, but when I play a game, it's fine. It wont let me create any Mii's, and I can't even get the finger to show most of the time. If you have any suggestions it would help.....thanks!!

LED always green and resulting On/Off problems

Hi everyone,

I seem to have what might be a new issue here as I've had trouble finding other posts about it.

I just got a Wii about 4 or 5 days ago and every time I power down the system by pushing the on/off switch on the Wii itself, the green status light stays on. To make things worse, the Wii can no longer be turned on again from this point. The reset button does not work either. The only button that does work is the eject button and games can also be reinserted, but once they are, again, the system does not boot up like it should.

Today I found that if I use the Wii remote to power up and power down the system, it sometimes works the way it should, but often I hit the same wall.

Would you say this Wii is defective and that I should exchange it for a new one?

Any other suggestions?

strange ip problem

Hi everyone!

I got my wii a week or so ago, and everything is working great except i can't connect to the internet with my console..

The thing is.. i got it to connect once... after doing a manual setup... It updated the console, and i got into to the weather and news channels and everything seemed to be working.. albeit the connection was very slow

I tried to get into the wii shop channel but after a half an hour of loading i turned the console off...

Now here is my problem..

Whenever i try to connect now to the internet i get a connection error...and the strange thing is when i try to do a manual setup again and enter the ip and dns setting manually the console changes the addresses...

For instance... when i try to input the ip of my router which is 10.0.0.1 after saving the wii has suddenly changed the ip to 010.000.000.001

and when i try to input an ip of the console it changes 10.0.0.118 to 0100.000.000.118

Everytime i try to change the numbers back to the correct values its changed back after i've saved...

Any ideas how to fix this?

lack of color on tv

We just got everything set up and it's mostly great. However, the picture on the tv is in grey tones! I have rechecked the connections, etc and am not sure where to go next. Anyone have a suggestion? Thanks ever so much (in advance)
A grateful mom

ok never mind. I got it figured out. It was a matter of swapping out the nintendo with the ps2! (different ports on the tv)
thanks anyway
