Sounds like the batteries are bad.

I'm not sure if someone has already answered this...
First off, calibrate the remote. I think that this is in the Wii Options menu.
Once it is calibrated and seems to be working fine, make sure you're standing right in the front-middle of the TV around 1.5 metres away (around... 6 feet or so).
The best two tips I can give for playing the wii is #1 practice - the learning curve is quick and it is easy to get good at it, you just need to learn from mistakes. #2 Exaggerated movement works very well. Throw your body around, if the ball if coming the to the right, throw your hand (with the wiimote) to the right and swing forward.
Hope that helps!

I've heard and seen a lot of issues with the sensor bar. The stock one that comes with the Wii is said to work up to 30 ft.
There is an aftermarket one, I believe made my Intec, that is said to work up to 100ft. It is also wireless and runs on batteries, which I consider a bonus! So, for a few extra bucks, you get a sensor bar that is supposed to be 3x more powerful!
Let us know if anyone purchases this, would be interesting to compare to see if it actually makes the difference of half-working wiimotes to excellent wiimotes.
Cheers,
Derrick.

I just bought my Wii a week ago and haven't had the graphics issues as of yet.
One thing that I did notice is that while the system is in standby mode, the system gets very warm... which kind of worried me after reading through a few of these threads about overheating and graphics issues & replacement units. I'm pretty sure that it is a heat issue dealing with memory (either video or physical - not sure). I turned off the standby mode for the WiiConnect24 and this has solved the heat issue. I checked it yesterday while the unit was off and it was no longer warm, it was room temp.
The only other issue I was having was synching my WiiMotes. I just read that there was a synch button near the SD card slot ( thanks to whoever it was that posted that!! ), so I will try this if I ever run into it again - not tested yet, but it sounds like a fix!
Other than that, I think I'll get the Intec Sensor bar and the cooling fan. They sound like good investments!
Cheers,
D.

Help Me!!!
I hooked up my Wii to my plasma tv and the color is black and white. Also the screen setup will not let me switch it to high definition from normal tv. It wouldn't jump to that option. Someone help me and tell me how to hook it up with component cables!!!!!

Just hooked up my new Wii but NO PICTURE. I've hooked up other consoles before through the same system without a hitch. But my new Wii doesn't seem to give any signals at all. No Video, No Audio.. nutta!
I've tried putting the video (yellow) straight into the TV, and also in the VCR Line In (both of which have worked for me before).
Please tell me I'm missing something simple... there just aren't any buttons to play with (power, eject, reset, and the red remote synch button)... could I have caused it to not show a pic at all by breaking the remote binding?!?!?
Heeeelp. I wanna play.

Disk Read Problem
I have had my wii for about a few months now and recently im noticing that whenever i play SSX Blur. While the game loads or something...the wii makes a fairly loud crackle noise. The game is reading fine (no freezes or anything) its just a loud crackle. I also have NFS:C and Zelda and they dont make that noise. Is there something wrong? Its a little loud and somewhat annoying. Is this normal? Has this happened to you? Is my CD drive broken? It only does it with this game.

Wii Internet problems & freezing up
Hi all,
I have had my Wii for about a month and have had some problems that are very frustrating.
I have a wireless Lynksis router and have my settings correctly set up in my Wii. I can access news, weather, and wii shop channel, but can't do the Mii stuff. I get connection errors like 102030 and two other ones, but when I test my internet connection, it is successful.
My 2nd problem is that when I go to Wii Menu, it freezes up a lot. I can't always just power it down either. Sometimes I have to unplug it from the back. Do you think it's defective? I am not covering any of the vents.

Controller Lost Signal
I was playing Call of Duty 3, and then all of a sudden my controller's connection to the Wii was lost. I tried re-syncing it by pressing the red buttons and i tried resetting the machine. But it didn't work.

Hey there fellow Wii-ers.
So here's the deal. Our system was working fine for about a month. Then, my genius little sister screwed up our Wii. I don't even know how...she was trying to put in the Gamecube game Super Monkey Ball but I think she put it into the disc slot too hard. So now, whenever we try to put in a disc, it makes this funny whirring sound and tries to spit the disc back out. I say 'tries' because the only way to get the disc out is to turn the system upside down and have the disc slide out.
So now I can't play Gamecube OR Wii games. Does anybody have a solution? Any help is much appreciated.

Hey guys hope to god someone out there can help me.
i only have 3 games for my son play, sports and smooth moves but each time i insert a disk i get the error has occured press eject and remove disc and turn off then refer to operations manual, which also askes me to see online about the problem. im having no luck so far and this error happens each time i insert any game, ive turned it off by the plug and waited 15 mins before starting yet again and still no joy. the wii still works ok without a game, ie navigates to different parts like photo ch etc. we are truely stuck on this, any advice will be so much appreciated. Thank you. xxx

The blue light means the Wii is receiving data from the internet.
