Jollyguy23 - can you provide more info. Is it on every game? Does the same thing happen when you are in the Wii menu?
The first thing I would check is the connection into your TV. Try plugging a different device into that connection and see if there are similar picture issues.
Also try your Wii on a different TV (friend/relative?).

Do not take your Wii apart if it is still under warranty. Opening the case will void the warranty and you won't get a free repair/replacement. My guess is that somebody has inserted something other than a game disc into the slot.

Are you talking about the power light? See this thread.

When I hook up my wii I get sound but no video. I have checked all the cords which are plugged in correctly and can't figure it out. It will work when plugged in to the high def cord.

Have had my Wii since X mas and was using the regular cable...everything was working fine but now I have no picture...I took my Wii to a friends and I used my cable on his and it worked. We then used the HD cable on my Wii and it worked....I do not have a HD TV so do not know what to do...Any ideas. Thanks

Have you tested the video input on your own TV with another device? If your Wii works at your friends house with your own standard cable, then the Wii and cable seem to be okay.
Try plugging a DVD player or another friends Wii into your own TV using the standard connection. I suspect the socket is faulty on the TV.
If you find that this is the problem, I have a workaround for you. Check that your TV has a spare scart socket. (picture of SCART here)
If you have a socket, you can buy an adapter which you connect your phono Wii cables to, then it goes into your SCART socket. It is available in most electronics shops (maplin, currys, comet) and I've found an example on Amazon here.
Alternatively, if your TV has the component inputs (it may do even though you say it is not an HD TV), then you can buy the component cable and try that. (example here)
Hope this helps.

Hi, I am in the US. I bought a wii from a friend of mine and it appears to have a news channel in English, and one in Japanese. I think it is a region issue. Will a reformat set my wii back to US region?
Thanks

Original Wii Remote Wont Synch
Hi, I just bought a Wii today and had no problems setting it all up, however, I didn't know the Wiimote that came with it was already synchronized to the console, so when i got it set up i tried to synchronize it (at the "press A to continue" screen) Now it wont even synchronize. The batteries are fine and i don't think there is any interferance. All that happens is the 4 lights blink for about 30 seconds and then stop, and also whenever i press a button the 4 lights blink. I have scoured the internet all day and nothing on "synchronizing + re-synchronizing your wiimote" has worked at all. Did i break the controller by trying to synchronize it when it was already synchronized? Would buying + using another Wiimote work? Please somebody help!
Thanks - Ashes2049

When I was at my friend's house we used my Wii on his set up and it did not work. When we used his Wii on his set up it did work....but using an HD cable both work...Can I use an HD cable on my tv that is not HD capable. Or if not then I think that my only alternative is to send the Wii in to get fixed. What do you think? thanks LIdo for your help

had, what's confusing is that your HD cable uses the same port as your standard cable, therefore the Wii is probably fine. Have you tried your friend's standard cable with your Wii?

Do you get a "language settings" screen appear when you launch the news channel? If so, it sounds like you might have a language or country setting that needs changing in your main Wii Settings. Check these in the Wii Options and let us know if it works.

You probably want a better answer but it definitely sounds like your wii remotes have not been correctly synchronised. You will not have done any damage by trying to sync again. I suggest you go through the procedure one more time resetting the sync buttons on the wii and the wii remotes. Press sync on the remotes first, then shortly after press sync on the console.

I don't know if anyone will know this or not, But i thought i would give it a try. I just got the new game mario kart for the wii, me and a friend are trying to add each other's so we can play together. For some reason its not working. we have went threw the message board and registered each others wii's. We also went into the wfc on the game and put the other code in that it gives you. But its not working. Does anyone know what else we can try?

I am trying to get one of my keyboards to work on Wii. I have no wireless keyboards so I'm trying to get a wired one to work. None of the keyboards I have are usb so I brought a adapter that plug on to end of keyboard to make it usb. I have tried 2 different keyboards so far and neither gets power. I have tried both usb slots and nothing. Can you not use a reg keyboard with a usb adapter on the end? Does is have to be a factory usb end keyboard. Or what could be the problem?

Go to Nintendo WFC play -> Friends
At the bottom of the screen you will see your own player name followed by your Mario Kart ID (different to your Wii code). Make a note of this and give it to your friend.
Now click on "Register Friend Code" and enter the code that your friend has given you. Get your friend to do the same with yours.
Now click on "Friend Roster" and see if your friend appears on there.
Once they are in your roster, you can either create a room of just goto Continental/World play. Once you are in a race in Continental/World, your friend can goto the friend roster, select your character, and join you in the race.
Hope this helps.
