Silver13 - have you performed a Wii system update recently? You will need to ensure your Wii is up to date as Nintendo added USB keyboard functionality in one of it's updates.
I do not know if one of those adapters will work with the Wii, but you should rule out any other possibilities first with a little bit of troubleshooting: Have you tried the keyboard with USB adapter in a PC or other device just to check that it works? Are you able to borrow a friends USB keyboard to make sure that will work with the Wii?

Wii won't let me update!

I've had my wii for a bit now. I don't use it too often because I'm way busy with other things, but regardless... I received a mail on April 7th I think it was telling me to update. I have been trying to update since then and it won't work. My internet works fine when using other applications (and the connection I'm using also works fine enough for me to be able to access this site and surf the web with no problem on my computer) yet I can't get it to complete the update, and whenever I go to wiiware it tells me I can't access it until I update. WTF am I to do?

I actually found out how to do it the night I wrote the message. But thank you very much for replying to my message.

Are you receiving an error message with an error code? Or does the progress bar just seem to freeze? Let us know the exact symptoms when you try to update and we may be able to help.

If the progress bar is just freezing, I recommend leaving your Wii switched on (updating) overnight. It can take a very long time for the update to complete if you haven't updated for a while.

Can you also confirm that your Wii is correctly connected to the internet? (ie. you can browse web pages on the internet channel, play online games etc...)

getting error message with new game mario galaxy

We have an new Wii system. Had it for a week. We've been playing wii sports with no problems. Bought Mario super galaxy today. Put in the disc, see mario super galaxy in the disc box of wii menu. click on it. new screen with MSG, click start and then we get an error screen: Eject disc, power off... Called nintendo they say it's the disc. We exchange the game. Bring home the new one. Same thing! We've done the eject, unplug thing several times but can't get it to work. Put the Wii sports disc in and it works fine.

Hoping someone might have some magic wii can try before sending it in.

Thanks for the help.

The wii will attempt to update for a few minutes and the bar will barely move. Then I get the error message telling me that because of a problem with my internet connection my Wii is not able to update. However I am able to use other internet-related applications through my Wii (news, weather, everybody votes etc.)

If you're using wifi, you might have weak wireless signal. Try placing your router in another position. You can also test your internet connection on a PC with pingplotter. www.pingplotter.com. Even if it seems to work with other applications you might have small timeouts which doesn't affect those applications.
