Just installed a new wireless router (linksys wireless g). Wii connected no prob. Quite the opposite. My wii's been flashing blue for 2 or 3 days now...
Seems a little long for an update. It also won't sync w/ the remotes. I can turn it on with the switch, but it then ignores the 'motes when it asks 'press A' I'm leery of unplugging during any sort of update.
Do you have messages? Usually when you Wii is constantly flashing blue, you have messages. If you check them it will stop flashing. Alternatively, I think you can hold the reset button for 5 secs (I think, not entirely sure) to stop making it flash.
As far as the wiimotes, I don't know. Did you try resyncing them by pressing red button under the flap that has the SD card reader, and then pressing the red button inside the battery cover of the wiimote? This should permanently sync the remotes to the wii, allowing you to press A and have them come on, as opposed to connecting them through the home screen.
If you've check both of the above, I seriously don't know what it is.
Purchased a BRAND NEW premodded Wii from ModChipCentral has a problem with playing SSBB. When I stick the ORIGINAL disk in icon shows on disk channel, but when I start the game, it gets to differnet stages but I usally don't get very far before it HANGS UP ! Have to actually power down the Wii. Have not yet received a reply from ModChipCentral regarding this issue. All other Original disks and backups work flawlessly !!!
Is it possibly a DVD ROM firmware issue ? The Unit is BRAND NEW, no way to tell the mfg date, all i see is a serial # ?
i just got me a wii a few days back.. and i was kinda bored so i was mucking around with the settings on the wii.. and i changed the refresh rate from 50 too 60hz... now i got a blank screen and no music.. is there a way too do a factory reset or anything...
i done this cause im use too the pc saying these setting will change back in 5 4 3 2 1.. yet too my suprise it did not...
so if anyone can either get a whole heap of screen shots of the wii and the options so i can use them as a guideline too get it back too normal that would be awesome..
if you know any faster ways thats even better...
um.... yeah cheers

I'll copy here the letter I sent to Nintendo Tech about the problem I'm having with my Wii. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I did not use my Nintendo Wii for the last year but have been doing so regularly for the last week. It worked fine on Monday when I downloaded some games for the Virtual Console. When I went to use it again today there was no power in the machine. I unplugged the power adaptor from the back of the console and when I plugged it back in the red standby light came on. When I pressed the power button, the power light flashed green for a moment and the CD slot flashed blue, but then the power in the console went out. It won't switch on through any method. I have tried this several times and each time I plug the adaptor back in the standby light comes on but nothing happens when I try and power it on.
I have tried plugging it into different outlets and it has the same problem with each one, and I have plugged different applicances into the initial outlet and they work fine. I have gone through all the troubleshooting possibilities on the Nintendo website and wondered if anyone could offer any more solutions? I have looked for frayed wires that would indicate a external problem but can find none.
I've got problems with my wii last night to power went off in my house for 30 sec. now the red light won't come on. its on a surge protector. I have had it for a month. Guitar hero is in the wii and can't get out either I've also taken the battery out to check just no power. The tv works fine thats on the surge protector. thanks for any help
sound like the power source in the console got messed up. not sure though.
I have the same problem, is there somehow you can fix this on your own? or do you have to take it to some kind of WII repairman? Do those people even exist in Europe?
Wow... 42 pages of problems on the wii. Makes me afraid. After reading 4 pages of wii problems trying to find something similar to mine, i gave up.
All who succeeded in reaching nintendo tech service, did you get sats answers ? I still havent found their link to submit problems.
Anyway, my wii is brand new, about two weeks old and for the first time, a problem arrived when i tried playing top spin 3 :
Everitime i swing a specific wii mote with that game, the "pause" menu comes in. First, my friend accused me of hitting the "+" button by accident, but when he tried himself after i showed him waiving the wiimote with only two fingers far from teh "+" menu, he had to beleive.
I tried re-sync, rebooting, etc, nothing works. If anybody have a hint, i would say a good thank you. I am not even sure if the problem is the wiimote or the wii itself !!!
Yea this is completely not what you were talking about but I have a question. I bought some wii component cables the other day and I tried them on my HD. But like every couple of seconds the video will skip but I can still hear the sound. I tried my regular AV cables that came with the wii and they work fine. I even went over to my buddies house and tried it on his HD but it doesn't do it on his only on mine. Any suggestions?
I say its the TVs prob not the cable try checking the tv out

Hey people!! I bought a wii about three weeks ago,in Ireland (where I live) and it is working fabulously. The only problem is, I bought wii games in America and that is in a different region. Can I ,by any chance, make it work? Or what can I do now? Will I be able to change regions, or will I have to buy a completely new, American Wii? PLEASE help me, because it is really important! You can e-mail me wycke@freemail.huThank you for help!!
Yea I thought it might be but my 360 and PS3 work fine with component I think it might have something to do with the Wii but I don't know. What do you think?
well if then ur wii I guess try replacing the cable, if it I

OK, I've had this Wii for about....... coming to a month?
Its working pretty well, but I was playing with a friend a while back, and then I came up with the error message that says 'Reinsert Game Disk'.
So I do just that, but when it starts up again, all the noise is like static, and everything is all laggy. I've checkd all the connections, unplugged it from the mains power several times, but same result. Any ideas?
tried cleaning the disk or did it happen to allgames?
