Mine lit when my Wii had an update while in standby mode. Haven't seen it glowing when powered on though, disc-less or not.

It isn't supposed to glow when there are discs in. Nintendo may have been about misleading with all the empty Wiis they had.

mine was glowing when i was using the wiiconnect24 (which is more like wiiconnect-Sometimes) but i registered my cell phone to be able to get messages from my wii and my moms and sis's so yeah, it was bright blue when doing all that within the message board part of the console it was awesome heh

yes there is under the wii connect24 options only one i had seen it in unless im not seeing it cuz i havent slept since 8am yesterday haha

In the Wiiconnect24 options theres a setting for the light, you can choose Dim Bright and Off. I have mine on bright.

mine doesnt light up. it only lights up when turning it on but only for a second well not even a second it just flickers!

yeah those settings are just there to adjust how bright it is nothing more. the light is pretty much just a status symbol basically. im sure if nintendo gets enough requests they can update the system software to allow you to leave it on all the time.

Hey guys
i was in the kitchen just now and i looked into the living room and saw a glowing blue light. it was my wii! its off...but...glowing blue in the dark? kinda freaked me out. lol

I just had a thought since the light goes on when you have a message just send a message to your Wii and don't read it and how presto your lights on 24/7
