Were they talking about Wii's or just a shipment in general? I know they get their shipments from the dist. center in the morning, but they also get Fedex/UPS during the day.

Just wondering...has anyone had any success with itrackr.com? I have a giftcard to gamestop (which I assume also works for EB Games since they're the same company - right?) which itrakr apparently cannot track as accurately as the other stores. I was just wondering if people had any success using the service. I already registered for it since it's only 2 bucks, but I was wondering how reliable the information is. I currently live in the Bronx, but I'm originally from Bayonne, NJ so I've tried the Gamestop and EB there with no luck. According to itrackr a couple of days ago, there were consoles in 2 Bronx locations. Currently it says that there are 1 bronx location, 1 in New Rochelle, NY (New Roc City), and 1 in Fort Lee, New Jersey that have wiis in stock (and 2 Queens Target locations). Of course I have called these places/visited with no luck. I work a 9-5 job, so I really can't camp out or go to these stores during the day, except for maybe a manhattan store during my lunch hour which sucks. If I didn't have a giftcard to gamestop I would just camp out at the nintendo world store at rockefeller center, which from what i've heard, has a good supply as long as you make the effort - but I really can't take a day off since we just had the holiday break.
A friend that I work with was one of those ebay mofos...he went downtown to keep his brother company while he was waiting online at nintendo world, and ended up getting one too - only to sell it on ebay for some rediculas amount of money. Needless to say I was really po'd cause I refused to buy off ebay. I know the guy bought it to make a profit, but I would rather have given him an extra 50 bucks or whatever to get a brand new wii from someone I knew and have it BEFORE christmas, than some greedy profiteer on ebay. I really chewed my friend's ear out in the office when I found out what he was doing, he was rather aprehensive to approach me afterwards, especially since I said I wouldn't do anything till I got a wii. lol. keep in mind i'm a 23 year old girl, so a lot of young guys i work with don't want to hear a girl complain or bitch at them. However, I've been a loyal nintendo gamer since I was like 6 or 7...so...don't let the skirt fool you! I'm hardcore! lol.

So tomorrow, where is the #1 place to be? I'll let everyone know, it's not Best Buy (at least if you live in California). I work at Best Buy, and we don't even have any Wii's on order. So I'm thinking Target?

Why do i find it hard to beleive you dont have any on order, that would be retarted. Unless your manager is lazy or something.(not trying to be rude.)

Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, GameStop/EBgames and TRU get their wii's via UPS, FedEx or DHL. Period. The primary carrier appears to be UPS.
I've been to no less than 15 stores and I haven't heard otherwise from a single one.
Is it possible that there are some overnight shipments? Sure. But if Itrackr doesn't tell you that Target has gotten a shipment overnight, I think it's safe to assume nobody has.
IMO, if you don't see anything on Itrackr, I would plan on hitting up Best Buy and TRU at opening and see what's going on there. If they don't have them, then you know you're waiting for a shipment. I would suggest going outside and watch for the delivery trucks. When one arrives, follow the delivery person inside (for my Best Buy, wii's are delivered at the front door). You might even think of POLITELY asking the driver if they are delivering wii's. If they are, follow them to the gaming department.
In my town (Philly) all of the stores got their last shipment on the same day. Therefore, I don't really think it's necessary to go from store to store, you'll just increase your odds of "just missing" one. Pick a store, wait there and watch for brown trucks like a hawk.
If you get an itrackr alert for Target, go to that Target and DO NOT leave without a wii! It may take some time for the people in the electronics department to become aware of the shipment. Listen to itrackr, not them.
My choice of store? Best Buy and TRU. It seems that Target got the large shipment last week, which tells me that it's probably these stores' turns this week.
That's my strategy.

^^ Smart but most stores here get a shipment throughout the day and some get there shipment in before the store opens so you jsut never know about these shipments.

Then hang out as long as you can and watch for trucks. If the shipment has come before the store opened, then getting there at opening should have you covered. I think it's totally fair game to ask the employees to PLEASE check the computer for their wii status, rather than just giving the standard "no wii's" response. If they do this for you and confirm that they don't have any in back, THANK them for checking and let them know that you'll be around waiting for today's shipment and will check in with them periodically.
Come prepared with the phone numbers for the other stores in the area and call around while you're waiting for trucks.
