Still on the Search for Wii?

I've been reading this thread for a while now, finally decided to step up in post. Everyone in this forum has been real helpful in my search for a wii, even though I haven't gotten one I would probably be still mindlessly checking stores whenver I could.

Shipments to big boxes have been sparse in Northern VA, the only places having gotten them this week were TRU and EB/Gamestop. I think with the exception of those two, the way wiis are being shipped has changed. I think that the big box retailers are now getting them to their distribution centers since immediate availability before Christmas is no longer an issue. It also makes me want to think that places like BB, CC, and Target (in my area at least) may be waiting for more units to do a big one day thing like wiiseeker has gotten a rumor about.

I think the best bet for east coasters this week is to hit up TRU a little after opening, looking for UPS truck to pull up. They got some in last tuesday, but without the holiday they would have gotten them monday, so checking there mon and tues may prove to be a good bet. Gamestop/EB too, but in my area it seems that if my Gamestop is getting some, people are still camping out for em.

So goodluck to all this week, i wouldn't waste time checking Sunday. Also, thanks to people like Kristi that have stuck around to help ppl, even after attaining their Wii.

Man wait till yall get yall wii . because i was feeling the same way looking at this thread all day but when you finally get you are going to feel srry for the people who dont got it. hope u get one soon i got lucky at wal-mart no getting up early or nothing just decided to pick cds up after school and there it go

My news: For chicago, TRU guy said that they usually recieve one shipment a week and they come in the morning so getting there at opening is helpful (10:00)

BTW: Why do they put those ****ing display boxes out they are the WORST

many a time i have found my self jumping for joy only to find out that what im looking at is an empty box. These retailers are bordering on sadistic imo. lol

Those display boxes at TRU once pissed me off so badly that I took every single one and hid it, so they couldn't mislead anybody else. I assume that they found them, but I never did see them displayed again!

I second that TRU is a good source, but I want to point out that my TRU (South Philly) gets all of their shipments via FedEx and DHL (primarily DHL).

-I also think that hitting stores up a day earlier is an excellent strategy due to the non-Holiday weekend.

Haha, well, there were about 6 display boxes at my TRU, and i was misleaded and the guy who worked there had said 'That was quick'. And we left, i was disapointed.

There are no boxes anywhere at the stores around my area anymore. I think there were enough complaints.

I'm thinking about making an FAQ thread for people to read so we have the information ready in one easy to find place that we can update as we learn more and new users can find quick and easy information.

As for the information that I discovered today. Target receives shipments MWF and Saturday. I saw a UPS truck at Target as I was driving by and nearly leapt out of the car. I got there and they had nothing. The operators and service desk people are starting to recognize my voice. They're actually starting to be helpful and telling me information.

My Target is due. I'm hoping Monday or Wednesday.

Oh yah, I also forgot this nugget of info. One of my friends works at target, and I finally saw her and asked what the word was on Wiis and she said that even if they came in they would never make the sales floor, only in the rare chance that they got unboxed right before close. They've been letting the employees that want them buy them. I asked why they did that, she said, "dunno, we take care of our own I guess." I'd get mad...but I'd want it to be that way if I worked at target

I finally got mine with Zelda. Was 4th in line went at 4am to bestbuy and was 4th in line they only had 6 Wii's tho. This was one friday.

Guess what happen to me today, Me and my Mom went to Toys R Us In Toledo Ohio and i waited in the car and my mom came back out and said there was a Sign and it said 16 Wiis IN STOCK i was like WTF!!!! i ran in there and it said PS3's in stock i was so mad!!!! Damn small font

This is my first time posting here. My husband actually got a Wii on launch day. I waited in line and preordered it. It was fun for about a month when just before Christmas we had a house fire which destroyed just about everything we own including the Wii. We're grateful that no one was hurt and insurance covers most of it, but actually finding a Wii has been a struggle. I'm not looking for a handout, just a new Wii that I can buy without paying scalper's prices. If anyone manages to pick an extra Wii up or already has, I can PayPal you the money immediately. Please PM me if you can help.

Edit-If I were reading this I might be skeptical since the Wii is in such high demand. I added a picture of our house.
