AHHH!. my friend told me he has a friend who works at the best buy i know. and he said theyre getting 8 wiis on sunday night at closing, and selling 6 of them on monday. so i guess the Jan 15 rumor is true.

Okay, After dinner I came onto this site to check for updates, and I happened to have caught fronty's post about Circuit City having wii's in stock. Turns out they did; and when I got there they had 2 wii's left. They originally had 9.

I stormed into the store, asked if they had any wii's and of course they had two left!! I got myself a wii not too long ago. I've never felt so happy in my life. I have to write up a report and then i'll set up my wii and start playing!

Thank you so much fronty, you are the reason I have a wii in my possession right now. You don't know how happy I am from your help.

Well, almost 90% of the time you get ahold of someone who only works there because 1) they needed a job 2) they only work there for the games or 3)both 1+2. The only employee that actually GIVES a damn about business is the manager, store manager, etc. Those are the people that will be nicest and give out the most information (if any). I mean every time I called this one place in the mall I would get this monotonous sounding guy. I'd ask if they had Wiis, he responded with "No", I'd ask if he had any idea when they'd be getting more in "No *click*".

If you're lucky enough to get someone who cares, take advantage of it. You will also find sometimes that the employees themselves are wanting a Wii as well, then you make a connection with that person.

I made a Wii-searching buddy who worked at Target and he would honestly tell me when he thought shipments would be in (though he never knew for certain), and what days are best to call/stop in. He also gave me a rough time-range to stop in just incase there would be Wiis in (he never gave a specific time and was honest about shipments not coming at one time every day)

And seriously, if someone is MAJORLY rude to you, ask to speak with the manager. Just because they're irritated about phone calls/constant walk-ins, doesn't give them the right to treat you like crap.

I have a question for you all. A number of local circuit cities in my area have been lighting up in the past fifteen minutes about Nintendo Wii's being in stock. I called and the girl who answered giggled, sort of like nervously, when I asked her when the next Wii shipments would be as she said tomorrow morning like she was telling me something she shouldn't be. My question is do you think that they are getting them now to put them out tomorrow? Also, if so, will they have them out immediately when the store opens?

good to hear...i've been waiting to see if ebgames came through with the list or not...i still don't know where i am on the list...i should get another email tomorrow since last thursday i put my name on it...i'm hoping i'm below 10th...anyways...Congrats on the Wii!!

Any idea how many they had? They're still showing as "in stock", but they close in 5 minutes... Trying to decide if I should go in late to work tomorrow...

does ebgames only sell wii's to list or do they also sell by themselves?

Yeah you probably should, i'm definitely going tomorrow when it opens.

I think it depends on the managers. The EBgames and Gamestops here won't allow us to even pre-order. It's all first come, first serve.

THe Yahoo wii finder shows a store on the map, does it mean they have it?

it's first come first serve in most places...except my location...EBgames puts you on a list so you can get one when they come in so that eveyone has a chance to get one...it's sorta like pre-ordering but you don't have to pay for any of it until it's in front of you...

It just shows potential places where you could find a Wii.

so im going to Best Buy on monday because my friends friend who works there confirmed that they will have 8 wiis on monday. im gettin a little worried that there are gonna be alot of people waiting outside already. how early do you think i should get there?

i thought best buy was supposed to have like 100 or so wiis on monday. is that rumor untrue or what . 8 is not enough cause your not allowed to camp out at my best buy and they do raffles with tix. so i wouldnt have a good chance to get one. does anyone know if the 100 something rumor is true?

I'm glad I was lucky enough to get mine on Nov 19th. EB only had seven that weren't preordered, and I was number 2.
