Folks:
I'm thinking of putting together a FAQ & a "best practices" guide for Wii searchers. I need all of you to PM me with the following:
- Tips that have worked for you.
- Links to other forums that discuss Wii availability.
- Links to other helpful sites (wii seeker, itrackr, circuit city backdoor, target backdoor, etc).
- Anything else that might be helpful.
-Merc

Merc, I think that's a great idea. I'll give this some thought and then PM you.
I was just thinking again how random this whole thing today was. I had been playing around with zip codes near you on itrackr and for some reason just decided to see if Amazon would have any available soon. And then I remembered their forum and thought I would have a look. And I just happened to look at the exact time that somebody was posting about their success in Nashua. So bizarre. Thank god that you put your location in your profile!
I have to say it, I think you were destined for this wii, Merc. And I hope that you and your wife enjoy it!

I'll pm you when I get a chance. Congrats Merc. I'm glad to see that the people who started posting here when I did have finally gotten a wii. Now we gotta help the new guys out.
It's very helpful and in your best interest to put your location in your profile. I'll do what I can with my iTrackr to help you guys out.

I live in Nottingham, New Hampshire. The closest stores were all located in either Portsmouth or Somersworth, NH (all about 30-45 minutes away from me).
Generally, New England just isn't hitting it lucky with the Wii situation. It's in such high demand, but we only get so many Wiis in shipment that I don't think we'll ever see enough anytime soon.
I'm just to glad I got mine. I was losing hope. The fact that the guy actually held it for me (after I explained to him my travel situation) made me thankful that not all employees are asswipes.
If I can get one, you guys can all get one, too! I'm sure you all live much closer to these stores than I do

well guys my search for a wii is finally over. I looked at itrackr this morning and it said one of my gamestops here in Kansas City had them in stock. So I go up there and they said to come back between 2-3 today. So I come back and they still don't have any so I get home around 3:45 this afternoon and called around different places and I decided to call up to the same gamestop and they had them, so I ran as fast as I could to my car and got there in like 10 minutes and snagged the 1st of the 3 that they got today. I also grabbed zelda. So I would like to thank everybody here on the forum so I could finally get a wii. I do have a iTrackr account that can be used still so if anyone want's one just pm me and I'll hook it up for ya. Oh I would love to add some people to my wii so if ya want just pm my with the code and we can swap, so again thanks guys and best of luck to anyone can get one either tomorrow or hopefully monday.

I've been playing my wii, got zelda today.. It's really confusing and I don't know what to do next, XD Aha, I suck. :| I need the guide book. But anyway.. Anyother game you guys suggest? I probably will wait for WarioWare, and then I will rent a game.. Like ExciteTruck, or Rayman, or.. Elebits. All seem fun and interesting. (:
Thanks. And Good luck wiiseekers. And Congrats new wii owners like myself.

That sounds like great advice, but Itrackr for me is completley dead. Im tracking 7 stores, none of which have recieved anything in well over a week, some over 2 weeks (according to Itrackr)
Dont believe me? Check zip code 61601.

So I actually have to disagree with you there. While it's true that the stores haven't received wii's in a good while, they have received other things. Your Target just received more PS3s a few hours ago. And it received wii remotes just 4 days ago. Your Target looks very similar to what the South Philly Target looked like up until this week; no wii's but other stuff coming in. Hopefully it will soon spring to life like that Target did (two itrackr alerts with confirmed wiis in two nights).

Rayman is fun. Totally silly and wacky, but fun. Also interesting is Trauma Center. I can't guarantee that you'll love it, but it makes good use of the wii remote (and chuk) and is definitely unlike anything you've played before. It's definitely worth a rental.

Yeah, I heard WarioWare's going to be lots and lots of fun. My sisters and I could play all the mini games, a blast. I loved WarioWare Touched for the DS, and with the controls of the wii, it'll be interesting for the wii.
Yeah, I keep hearing Excite Truck is great, doesn't last very long so that's why i decided to rent it instead of buy it.
Can't wait.

I haven't had any luck. I tried that Gamestop Availability thing and it said a place near me had one but I called them and they said they didn't have any (and I called them earlier). I called a bunch of places this morning and iTrackr has been dead since I joined yesterday.

Yeah, I've been thinking about Rayman it was one of my choices for games. But I don't have enough money to buy me another game, and i'm waiting for WarioWare so that'll be all. And then I'll rent something. But I'll say this, I'll eventually buy or rent both of those games. I don't really understand Trauma center, so, i don't know about that one.

Your Targets do suck. They haven't updated for much of anything at all. Your CC look better though, you have one that just updated for PS3 being out of stock 6 minutes ago. Sorry about those Targets.
PS: Try this link
http://www.gamestop.com/productavail...tus=A&bn=False
It might be worth giving that GameStop a call.

Well, I thought there was something wrong with my itrackr, too. None of my targets or gamestops/EBs were showing anything for up to 2 weeks. But I would call and ask when they got their last shipment in and it confirmed with itrackr - they really did go that long without receiving any.
If you live in a small rinky-dink area like me, they very well could not be getting regular shipments in.
Or, as the guy at EB told me, 90% of the time people buy them just as they come from the UPS truck. Doesn't really give them time to update inventory.
Just keep using itrackr and calling. You'll get one eventually.

I'm sort of medically inclined, so Trauma Center really appeals to me. The storyline is a little odd, but I think the idea of using the remote as a surgical instrument is really neat. This is definitely a game that could only be played with the wii. I guess I'll probably end up buying it, but only on sale or used.
My boyfriend rented COD3 last week. It looks great and has some interesting wii remote features, but it's not really my kind of game.
The new Zelda is G-R-E-A-T and uses the wii remote really well. It also has incorporated a bit of a Kingdom Hearts feel, which I LOVE!
