I Live in Calgary Alberta Canada, went to 4 stores last sunday and they have not even got any more shipments in yet.

Anyone have any news of whats happening with Canadian stores?

Canadian shipments are coming in through Vancouver, there's a strike going on over there on the docks, I have a friend that had his car stuck there for 3 months now and it's not moving. I'd expect this to impact heavily on the shipments we are getting since US is still getting Wii's and Canadian stores have ordered multiple times, and never received any. The second shipment in our stores was a total surprise to most of them from what like 5 clerks from different stores told me.

does anyone have any idea if best buy is getting any wii's before the 17th? i just called the one in socal and they said that. not really inclined to believe them due to the fact she said and i quote, "well that's the rumour..." .....great job.

Well I called my local Walmart to confirm about the Nintendo Wiis they are suppose to have on Wednesday and the guy that answered said he had no idea about anything like that. Didn't even sound like he even worked in the department! Like he just walked by the phone, answered it, and didn't try to find out anything for me!

Does anyone know of places that will have them on sale in the Boston area? Must be able to get there by train (college student...no car). I have called a bunch of places Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, Target....and they either tell me that they don't know when they are getting the shipment in or that they aren't getting any in till next year. Help?

Reporting in from Houston, TX (made calls on 12/4):

Circuit City - all have sold out of their Wii's on Sunday morning 12/3. I called 3 places, last guy says their system shows zero Wii's all around town. He hinted there may be a new shipment come Wednesday but couldn't verify the information and told me to call back.

EBgames/Gamestop - Some got them, some didn't. Those that did, had single digit quantities. All sold out. Made a few calls to EB's outside of Houston (Huntsville and Brenham), they say they didn't get their shipments Friday or today and said to call back later in the day.

Walmart - They've got them since Friday but won't sell them until Wed. 12/6 at 8am just like every WalMart across the nation. Called about 12 Walmarts from Dallas to Houston all along I-45 (brother works as a courier, since he was on his way there and back today, wouldn't hurt to try

), all gave the same response. Of the 2 Walmarts in Houston I asked how they intend to ration the Wii's to it's customers. Both said they have no clue, have asked their managers, in which they were given noncommittal responses. One of those guys told me their manager received word that tomorrow 12/5 plans will be finalized on how they will dole out the systems to shopping patrons. He told me to call back tomorrow for further info.

Target - Called 3, asked for their electronics department, they all asked why, I tell them it's about the Wii, all 3 give me the same scripted answer "We don't have any". I give them a follow up question in which they also reply "We don't know when, if ever, we will receive a new shipment, I'm sorry".

I haven't called Best Buy or CompUSA yet. Any of you in the Houston area still looking for a Wii wanna share some info you've gathered on these 2 retail chains? I only had time to make around 20 calls during lunch break. The quest for the Wii is turning out to be more work than work itself.

Looks like Walmart will be the best bet for me I want one before the week is over. Will check out the 24 hour places just before 7am on 12/6 to see if there's tons of people already lined up for a Wii or if all the ticket vouchers have been given out. If that's the scenario, then it's on to plan B, drive my ass an hour out of the city to one of the small town Walmart's for a chance on getting my hands on a Wii.

hey you guys need to go to ps3seeker.com, then go down to the wii seeker click it, then type in your zipcode an you will know shipment days. It is also very accurate, ive been with it for about 3 weeks now and its always right.
My places seem to be getting them on dec. 9th except walmart(dec. 6th)
also read the stuff in the rectangular boxes down below where you type your zip code in, theres rumors about stores.-Good Luck to you all!

So 8am is when all Walmarts will start selling them? Is this universal for the states or do time zones play a factor?

If this is really accurate, then thanks alot for the site! Seems like if I don't get one on the 6th, the 10th at local Gamestops will be my next best bet.

Yes they are but I would call your Walmart to see when they will give out tickets.

well, here's my deal. I've been all over hell trying to get a wii. I mean, no doubt i really want one but i am fed up with tryin to get one at a store and them never having any in stock. i have tried EVERYWHERE. i'm not gonna wait outside a store for 4 hours before it opens for one. I used that wii seeker thing and it said that gamestop in my area would be getting them the 3rd and that wasn't true at all. I even found a guy selling one on ebay near me using the wii seeker. i wrote him saying i would paying him 350 for one, and he basically replied with a "yeah right dude, f### off, i can probably get 500 for it. I'm officially done trying for now. i'll just wait a few weeks or even months until i can one at retail without a hassle and there are more games out. plus, maybe by then you can actually get the component cables for it. i don't even want one to play with plain composite. i have used composite cables since my snes. so this guys done trying, officially burned out of searching. good luck to the rest of yall...still a fanboy, just a frustrated one...

I called my local wal-mart today and the lady in the elecronics department said they are expecting atleast 3 but she doesn't know how much they were actually getting in and that they were going to start selling them at midnight. Damn dunno if i'm going to make since I have school that day and I get out at 10:30 and the drive home is about 1 an hour to an hour and a half depending on traffic.

Hate to see you giving up man. I'd probably do the same if I wasn't on somewhat of a deadline. I want to have a Wii before Christmas so I can share it with family because I'm leaving for a couple months after Christmas. Otherwise, I'd be waiting myself on getting one. I didn't get my Gamecube or PS2 till months after their releases. Hope my luck is better than yours (lol no offense)

"SO, I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and I've been on the desperate search for a Wii since it's launch.

I saw on a couple of internet websites (mostly forums and such) that Best Buy would be recieving a new shipment this Friday, December 8, while Wal Mart will get a new shipment Wednesday, December 6. I phoned both stores up, and both said that they "don't know when the next shipment will be" (wal mart)/"not sure if the next shipment is Friday" (best buy).

A friend and I were planning on camping out this Thursday night, in front of Best Buy. I guess we might not...or maybe we will, and just hope that they get it. I guess the best way to attack this issue is just phoning both stores the nights before.

So...does anyone living in Canada/Toronto know of any upcoming shipments?"

I originally made a thread on this, but I thought I'd post it here. Any help?
