Costco had ~20 Wii consoles bundled with Zelda and Excite Truck last night. If anyone has a Costco nearby it may be worth a check. This was the Costco in Raleigh NC.

I FINALLY got mine last Sunday!
I picked the Target that time forgot and was the first car there at 6:30 AM. After the 3rd car pulled up, we got out and headed for the door. At 7:00 AM there were 8 of us. The manager and security guard came out and told us that they were printing tickets up and that we would all have one. They got 18 systems in. By the time they opened at 8:00 AM there were still the 8 of us, so there was no problem getting one. Once I took the finace' home, I drove past the Best Buy near our house, which was about 9:30 AM (they open at 10:00 AM) and there were at least 20 people in line. We purposely picked the most remote Target in the city, hoping we would get one and we did. Finally, I went to the Target closest to us to see if they had a nunchuck and thank god they did have ONE. As I was talking to the kid behind the counter, three people walked up at different times asking for a Wii. Apparently, they had to turn people away, which may be where all the people at Best Buy came from. Who knows. All I know is that when we left the small remote Target, they had 10 left and there was no one else there. However, a guy I work with went to another Target that got 42 in. There were 43 people in line. Can you imagine being number 43?
I'm keeping my eye out for the Wal-Mart ads, since they are supposed to be getting theirs for Sunday. I have yet to see someone post the actual ad. There's a lady here that wants one for her son. I didn't know this until today. Otherwise, I would have picked one up for her.

The manager at my local Wal-mart told me that they have a dozen in stock but they are holding them for Sunday (28th Jan) which is the day their circular starts.
Wiis are in this month's Wal-Mart circular which we got in the mail today - the circular says that the store will have at least 5 Wiis.
I have waited a long time... hope I can get mine on Sunday!

If it's any use to anyone in the UK - I noticed today that Tesco are stocking Wii consoles and also all the UK launch games for the standard £39.95 - although Asda are selling games for £35.

I'm pretty sure he means 28 January (28 February is on a Wednesday). As for the Canada thing, I'd say call up a couple of stores around you.

Yeah, I know. If it was Feb. 28, I'd probably die. >_>
As for calling the stores, NONE of them will ever give me a definitive answer. Ever. Something special is happening on the week of Jan. 28 though, so I wanna get one. =]
Oh, by the way, if anyone from the USA wants one, walmart.com is selling the bundle now. You can choose 7 games and the Wii for something like 600$. Hope that helps someone :s

Kmart Kmart KMart - How many of you are checking your local Kmarts?? I bought mine from there without hassle or lines. Your odds of finding one there might be higher than finding one in Bestbuy or Circuit City.

Wii Plays Hard to Get
Gamers are going to crazy (and dangerous) lengths to score Nintendo's surprisingly popular game console.
By N'Gai Croal
Newsweek
Jan. 29, 2007 issue - If a man is known by the company he keeps, Tom Lee must be one heckuva guy. At the height of last year's shopping season, friends from California to England were diligently checking store after store to find the 26-year-old Washington, D.C., software developer the one thing he truly wanted for Christmas: a Nintendo Wii. And since Lee refused to pay the eBay markup (typically double the $250 list price), the global hunt stretched into December with no hope in sight. Then his friend and fellow D.C. resident Sommer Mathis, a 26-year-old documentary filmmaker, scored one of a handful of units remaining from a resupply at the Nintendo World store in New York City. "He was thrilled," says Mathis, "and he promised to shower me with favors over the coming year."
Yet while Lee and his friends revel in the console's simple pleasures, many Wii seekers have been left in the cold. Sony's cutting-edge Playstation 3 was widely expected to be last year's Christmas craze. But when the Wii—as white as a unicorn, and twice as rare—turned out to be the holiday's "it" console, eBay profiteers, parents and children alike were left scrambling to get their hands on the device. (The result: 604,000 Wiis sold in December.) As with such previous Christmas phenomena as the Cabbage Patch Kid, the Beanie Baby and the Tickle Me Elmo doll, those who had to have it were prepared to go to extremes—and not just financial ones. Last week, in Sacramento, Calif., a 28-year-old mother of three entered a local radio station's "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" competition, only to die of water intoxication. Nintendo of America vice president Perrin Kaplan, the company's spokeswoman, offered condolences, stressing that the company had no connection with the promotion.
Unfortunately, the Wii shortages aren't expected to improve any time soon. "We produce a healthy number, with more shipments coming weekly," says Nintendo's Kaplan. "We're not sure what more we could have done to meet such overwhelming demand." Why not simply airlift more stock from Asia, as Sony has done with the Playstation 3? Says Kaplan: "We try to minimize that, as air is costly. We're a profit-oriented company." Indeed, an analyst at Wedbush Morgan projects that Nintendo will gross nearly $2 billion by the end of March from Wii hardware and games. Until the Wii supply problems clear up—probably in March—the profit-oriented folks may be the ones having the most fun of all.

checked compusa anyway. they sold out. ran by bestbuy afterwards just to see when they got their last shipment ... today. this morning. sigh sigh sigh. i wish i had the kind of job where i could just drop everything and run about to get one. sadly i think i won't get my hands on one for a month or more. i just haven't the capability to do hardcore searching.
i'm a sad sad girl.

Thank you very much - I called Costco today, they said they had 2 big stacks right in front of the store. Went and got the Zelda/Excite Truck bundle. Very happy.
