I was at Best Buy yesterday after picking up another Nunchuk and Classic Controller. They had 7 Wii's. This was about an hour after they opened too.

Too bad only a minority of posters here are from Canada. ;D
The US at least have Wii stocks that don't run out as soon as the store opens. :P Anyone mayhaps have news on Canada?

about walmart(on the 28th): The information desk did not have any fliers. I asked if the electronics dept was expecting a shipment of Wiis and she said they do not know if they're getting any until they arrive.

Upshot is: no info

could they be lying? or what?

Here's a note for all you Canadians still looking to purchase a Wii.

If you have an EB Games in your location do the following:

EBGames gets their shipments of Wii's once per week. Those shipments generally come in on tuesdays, but can occasionally be delayed until wednesday or thursday.

1) Contact your local EB at 10:00am (opening time)
2) Ask them specific question number 1 "Did you receive a shipment that contained Wii's today? If Yes ask if there's a line, and if not, bust your butt to EB
3) If the answer to question 2 is no then ask "Is the Wii on the expected shipping list for today.
4) If the answer to question 3 is Yes, then hit your local EB up around 10:30 - 11:00 and prepare for your wait. Shipments generally come in between 11:30 - 1:30 (in most of southern Ontario anyways).
5) If the question is no to shipments list, then repeat the process on the following days.

I did this on some advice from the manager at my local EBgames, and I went last tuesday, waited 3 hours before the Purolator truck came in, but was fortunate enough to be first in the line of 20 and got my Wii.

is there anyway to be updated on the newly added games added to the virtual console ... you know opposed to just checking back and forth every once in awhile .... so is there a list of whats being worked on and to come with somewhat of a release date or atleast an email update of what has been added ... i know this isnt the right forum for this question but this forum gets hit hard and i know i'll get a speedy answer

I'm not sure that anyone can tell you if that's enough time or if the Walmart near you will have them. According to this link: http://www.ps3seeker.com/wii/index.p...&action=search they are anticipating that Walmarts in your area will have them on Sunday... but I think that we've found that sometimes the rumors are just rumors. I've gone and looked at Target for things when every tracking tool available said they had them and they just didn't.

I wish you luck because that's a long way to have to travel. My advice is to look at other sites (like slickdeals) and see what those threads are saying.

Sorry. I don't think people don't want to help.. but how are we really supposed to know better than you what your area demand is?

My friend stopped at the Electronics Boutique store in a heavy traffic mall for about a week everyday around 12:30pm during lunch break. He finally got his Wii there today.

It doesn't look like Targets in my area, Central Jersey, are holding Wii's for a weekend sale anymore. I watched Itrakr light up in my area between 12pm and 3pm. By 4 pm 4 of the Targets sold out. My friend has been Wii hunting with no luck so on a chance on my way home from work I stopped at one of the Targets that still showed in stock on itrakr. They had two left. As the lady was opening the case another person came in and bought the last one. Talking to the electronics person about the Wii, she said they trickle in and are immediately being put on the shelves now.

Moral of the story, if itrakr lights up in your area, they are more than likely sitting on shelf. So try to get there quickly.

Hey Ryanco64 where do u live in Canada? I live in southern Ontario and I just called bestbuy and EB games yesterday, so I have some dates you might be interested in!! bestbuy say that they have around 13 wii coming in every tuesday and EB games said that they are expecting some also on next friday and saturday. However, they both said that the restocks are usually sold out in the first 5 mins, so you might want to wake up early for one which is definitely what I am going to do!! haha

HELP! I have never owned any kind of gaming system B4 and have just recently bought a Wii. I LOVE it… or at least what I have figure out to do with it!!! I have about a million questions and to top it off no idea how to use this web page haha. Could someone tell me where I can chat to ppl who know how to work these?! lol and why are there so many “channels!”

Thanks to this forum I managed to score a WII for my little brother yesterday. Yesterday was also my first day of "hunting". I saw the post refering to itrackr and had no idea what it was. I went on it to find 4 targets around me got them in stock so i went to one during my lunch break at work and they were unloading the truck but they didnt bring any out yet, i waited for about an hr then just left with no luck, even though i knew they had them in the back the saleswoman was not all that friendly. At work a few hours those 4 targets dropped down to just one, but it happen to be on my way home. I left work a bit early and knew by this time they must be on the shelves, stopped by that target and they had about 10 of them in the display. Not a single person bought one while i was in there around 4:30 in the afternoon. Needless to say, I now have a very happy little brother.

I have yet to see a Wii sitting on a shelf in any store. I got mine from Gamestop and it was "in the back". I have found Wiimotes and nunchucks stocked at Target this week so now I have plenty of both for multiple players.
