Tell your coworker to go sit outside of Circuit City on Saturday night. And tell him not to take cash while waiting, most stores take credit cards today while theives can, but they don't work as well. :-)

Lets take this to another thread, cause this is definately not the place for it. I assume we can all agree on one simple fact. The Wii is $250. The Ps3 is $499-$599. The price difference is huge. Lets just leave it at that.

The reason is this. Weekly ads are published every week. There are people who buy Wiis and resell them on ebay for a lot more. They farm wiis. Some cases, one guy will take his family in and have the each purchase a wii, others have connections within the store itself and will do multipul purchases. Look on ebay and you will see pictures of some guy selling wiis in a large stack. Like 10 wiis piled on top of eachother, each receit (you have to attach in pictures) shows it was bought from the same store and obviously same date. This leaves no wiis for regular consumers. If you want one and cant beat the farmers to it, then you have to drop 300-700 dollars on ebay to get one.

The sad truth is, your getting kok blocked (mispelled on purpose) for wiis.

Some of that is no doubt going on yet it would require more capitalization than a few people could muster to constrict the supply of 500,000 units per month. Look at the people who tried that with the PS3 and how many of them made so little profit. You can buy any other system but it’s the Wii that you can't get your hands on.

If the total unit sales are correct, over 5,000,000 since launch, then it’s the hottest selling game system ever! Is it so impossible to believe that Nintendo underestimated the continuing demand?

As I have said elsewhere the PS3 offers great value for the money they are asking yet it's still a lot of money. If I had a large HDTV I would serious consider owning both the PS3 and a Wii. Yet either way I would own a Wii, how else could I play tennis golf and boxing with my 6 year old?

My neighbor works for Nintendo. She is the rep. for local stores here in

So.Cal.. She doesn't even have any information on when there will or won't

be shipments. I gave her my cell a month ago and told her to call me when

she knew anything. My phone hasn't rang yet. Sad thing is, she was

allowed to purchase three at launch and she sold the others to someone

else. This woman has a Wii and her daughter(9) told me they don't play it

and the little girl actually said she didn't really like it that much. Of course

she has everything in the world Nintendo, but come on! I have another

friend that has one and they have sort of lost interest. Makes me think of

all the Wii's sitting unused in some "impulse buyers'" living room. Ugh..makes

me sick. I've been waiting since "Revolution" was an idea. I didn't buy at

launch cause I did with m GC and felt I could wait a few months this time and

save myself some grief. Boy was I wrong. Thanks to ingenious marketing,

I'm a hardcore gamer that can't get my hands on a "retail" unit. Just like a

lot of you. Well, good luck in your searches friends, as I continue mine. I am

feeling positive about this weekend.

Ya, I know of one store that should be getting some in Monday morning, another that will get some either Tuesday or Wednesday at noon, and then another that gets some next Saturday.

I am pretty much just going to progress throughout the week till I get one.

Is there anyway to track shipments to stores? I don't have a Target in my area. Walmart gets random Fed-ex shipments during the day. Best Buy has trucks on Wednesdays and Fridays, but of course there is no way to tell if a Wii will actually be on the truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

My friend finally got a wii after months of searching and hunting. Of course the guy that sold it to him probably stole it, but at least he got a wii.

Hey all!

I'm new to the forum and still searching for a Wii. Actually I'm just officially starting my search. I've been interested in the Wii since before it came out and had the chance to be in on the opening day sale, but after a heated DISCUSSION with my spouse decided to go with the Nintendo DS for Christmas instead of the Wii. I never let my Wii dream go, and now I have "official" sanction from my spouse to get a Wii for my birthday.

I've got every store in an hour's drive from my house programmed in my cell and joined the iTrackr account in search of a Wii. Does anyone know if iTrackr actually works or if I wasted my $2? Any tips from the pro Wii searchers for the best way to find a Wii? I call stores daily, check often in person and am very courteous and friendly with folks when I ask about Wiis.

Thanks!

Don't know where you are, but I was visiting friends/family in the North NJ area last weekend. Called Toys R Us and found out they were getting them in for Sunday. Showed up at 7:15 AM and was 4th in line of about 50-60 people. When the store opened up at 10, we were given papers at the door for Wiis. Everyone got only 1 paper and I was out of there and back by 10:30.

Doubt many were scalping them and pretty much no person got more than 1. It was an orderly and good process.

If you want to see Wii availability and screw the scalpers, just don't buy them. They will be forced to lower prices or return to the store. Either way we all win.

EXACTLY! You don’t buy stolen product for the same reason, it only encourages thieves.

Yes, iTrackr does work. I posted that site on another gamer site for some kids that were still searching and within hours he was posting and thanking me. He got one that same day. Thing is, if you call the store, they usually won't tell you. You have to go to the store as soon as you see it on iTrackr and wait for the shipment. I also have a friend that works for Target Distribution and he confirmed that iTrackr is correct. They post the stores once they see that they are going to be in stock that day. You just need to go there and wait for the shipment.

Awesome news about iTrackr, I haven't received any announcements yet so here's hoping for the weekend.

I was on another forum and saw a notice that Circuit City is supposed to get Wii's in this Sunday. The ad said vouchers would be passed out an hour before the store opens.

Our store opens at 10:00, so do you think 8:00 am would be early enough to get a Wii or should I go earlier?

Thanks,

Idicaii

I think it all depends. We got our Wii at a Target. I found out that they were going to have them in their ads and we found the most remote Target in the city to go to. We got there at about 6:00-6:30 AM, they opened at 8:00 AM with only 8 or 9 of us there. They got in, I think, 15 Wiis. However, there were other Target locations around the city that turned people away. It's really difficult to say what time is best to get to a store. Use your own judgement and try to find the most remote store location you can. That store will be your best bet.
