Still on the Search for Wii?

Best Buy in Chicago here has about 600-1000 systems in their stores right now as I suspect that the other major retailers do as well. I have confirmed this with
the stores. They are only selling them on sundays until their inventory runs out due to a contract with nintendo that says they can't sell them on any other day because they want to keep hyping it every week and bring more people into the stores to check availability so that those who can get a system kiss their feet and those who can't eventually get fed up and buy playstation 2's and XBOX's. Even though I had $300 cash in my hand and the store had the system, they refused to sell it to me and told me I would have to wait in line on Sunday like everyone else. Imagine that, a store that thinks it is so big, it can tell me when to spend my money. It's OK though, I have enough time on my hands to post this on every major bulletin board in the country so I will make it my personal mission to do so. Toys R Us is doing the same thing as the other stores are as well.

You may be right about the Sunday only thing, but I bet they will still sell Wiis on Black Friday. Trust me, they don't want to miss out on people with the biggest shopping day of the year.

I called EB games and they said that "20-80 Wiis will be available on friday" . I also called Best Buy and the employee was "unsure" but in order to "make sure" that he was correct he put me on the line with the manager. She said that she had no idea about any shipment. Methinks that 1000 wiis sounds right, so black friday may actually be very white indeed.

Yes, most definetly. Two of the world's buisest stores, located in the most populated city in the U.S., on the biggest shopping day of the year. If they don't sell any, it wil be the biggest mistake any corporation has ever made. I would expect maybe 1000 wii's in both of those stores.

If you are willing to wait, toys r us is planning on giving away 25,000 wii's as soon as they are fully in stock. To get this offer, look for an ad in your local newspaper, cut it out, and find antoher one and do the same, then, when you take it in you can either get 10% off or get a free wii, depending on how lucky you are.

Best Buy is holding all Wii's until Sunday. Their Black Friday ad is designed to sell the Xbox's, Ps2's, and Ds'. My friend who works at Best Buy told me that they will not have any out to sell on Friday.

Uh...Who opens at 8.

Looking through the ads and all for black friday im not seeing any ads that say they will have wii's in store. I've only seen two flyers that have the wii on it. game crazy and EB Games.

lol, alright cool. There are two right near my work. just swing by them before i go to work.

Does anyone have any comformation if wal mart, or any other large department store will have any for sale tomorrow? or will it be another sunday only type of sale.

supposidly Best Buy is giving out tickets tonight at 11pm, and then having those who got a ticket come back tomorrow to pick up the wii.

hrmm. I think i might have to take a quick drive down to best buy to see if thats the case.

Though this may sound redundant, or should go without need of saying...

The lines at any Best Buy are going to be crazy, well from my experience they have been. Don't assume youre going to show up at 5 am when doors open, and stroll in.

For me I'll be there @ 4. Even then , I won't be head of the line I'm sure.
Black friday= madness.
