Well the things that sucks me for is I don't have the time of day to stand outside all night on a weekday to attempt to get one. I am banking on Sunday Releases b/c it seems like no one gets any in on Saturdays.

Here is what the itrackr developer said about Target employees:

Thanks BSDeez16! I didn't know about the blog topic about it. I know if I keep trying I'll get one eventually...just got to be patient.

Thanks again

i'm in Calgary as well, I think they are getting a shipment of 15 in the Shawnessy Futureshop.

But goddamn, all the Walmarts and EB games that i phone have no goddamn clue whether or not they are getting any Wii's or not, and it's pissing me off, to the extreme.

Looks like I effed up this morning! I heard about the Wii at Wal-Mart and figured that I would stop by before work this morning and see if I get lucky. I got there at 7:45 and there were about 7 people waiting... so I was optimistic!

The employee in charge showed up at 7:55 and said that he needed 2 lines, 1 for the people who camped over night (which was 2 kids) and 1 for people on "the list." One guy asked how many Wii there were and he said that all the systems they had were accounted for... there were 2 people in the list line. I asked for clarification on how you got on the list and he gave me some mumbo jumbo that didnt make sense, so i felt like was getting screwed and left. He told me about a possible emergency shipment that was coming in possible today at 10 or tomorrow at 10, and they didnt know if they were going to get it... who knows what that meant, so i left.

In retrospect, I should have waited a few minutes, I didnt know that they gave out rainchecks in the initial release, which is what i beleive the "list" was.... if people who were on the list didnt show, then who knows if they would have sold to the others there. i am also wondering if this "emergency ship, ment" business has to do with Wiis on hold for rainchecks being released... does anyone know anything of this?

Anyways, the more crap I go thru with this, the more I realize that I am not going to get my machine until after xmas!!!

Patience is a virtue!!!!!!!!!!

Oh what a glorious day! In my past posts, i had said that I had given up hope. I had checked everywhere, gotten the run around from everyone and then last night at 11:30 pm I decided to call My Super WalMart, which was a half hour drive away. I live in a little town in Nebraska and our shipments have been very weak. The lady on the phone said that they had 14 of them and that there were already 4 people waiting for them in line. At 11:30 pm? Ok. So I sat and contemplated. If I really wanted one I needed to go. So I drove the half hour and when i got there, there was about 10 people to my count. I inquired about the wii and what the deal was. the first 2 guys in line were walmart employees and were there waiting on their night (day) off. THey said "well, there's 9 of them, we know for sure." I looked and there was a list to put your name as first people there. I was number 8 of 9 on the list. And it felt soooo good. I had to sit in the walmart layaway section until 8 am this morning but then they sold them to us. It was nice to actually say "sorry, all 9 are spoken for" to someone else as they showed up. I got my wii. $266 with tax and lovin it.....to those who are still looking, just keeping making calls, check everywhere and keep checking. sounds like they're just gonna get harder to find in the next 3 weeks. don't give up! persistence pays off. LOZTP rocks. can't wait to see what games they have coming up here in the next few months....

oh, and also thanks to everyone in these threads for keeping others updated. don't give up! wii beats the shit out of the ps3 anyday...

you guys are lucky... you got to sit in the layaway department... at my walmart, they stuck us in the home and garden area, out of the way. It is a crappy shelter with tarps for walls, and a few heaters built in the celing... it was snowing outside and cold! oh well though, got a wii!

Got there at 3AM and was number 23 in line... out of 30

Just go to EB every morning. They really do get shipments, about 6 at a time. The UPS truck came in a mere hour and a half, and he shook his head upon sight of everyone in line... and that's how someone got mine for me today

What sucks about EB is they usually dont have the shipment in stock at opening. They get it sometime during teh day between 11am-4pm... sign up for itracker to know for sure when they get it?

Yeah, that would help people, if it's accurate?

I should probably mention the previous two mornings were waited in vain. Maybe everyone was at Wal-Mart today instead.

However, I did say that it was an hour and a half wait for the shipment to arrive after the opening. So, true about their shipments--you never know.

I just got shipping confirmation from my Circuity city online order yesterdat @ ~8:20 am CST.

I was using http://www.techbargains.com/buywii.htm and refreshing 24/7 every few minutes since the 19th whenever i was @ a computer. I passed on all the large bundles that came up because i didn't want 6-8 crappy games w/o an extra wiimote/nunchuck.

I wish I could go to Nintendo World...don't they have them like every day? I'm going to Target on Sunday bright and early. First time I've ever camped for a console.

If that fails then it's Best Buy or Walmart on the 17th...Best Buy the first choice since Walmart sucks.

2 Questions

1st - Is the Canadian Wii the same as the U.S. one? I'm about 99% sure there would be no compatability problems. Can anyone confirm this?

2nd - How do the people who camp out for Wiis even know that the store is getting them? Is it just from calling? In my experience the clerks always just say "Our shipments are scheduled, they just come, can't help you".

Thanks
