Yes, and unfortunately in a number of metropolitan areas across the U.S. (and possibly elsewhere in the world) where the demand is high these highly desired consoles are still unavailable in several densely populated areas. If you have a local resource that continues to carry them regularly I would consider the option of purchasing and then putting them up on eBay. You could not only put a couple extra bucks in your pocket but also help the community out that is still having difficulty, especially with the holiday season fast approaching.

Toys R Us had THREE wii's yeasterday. The first time I saw Wii's in the wild in 9 months! So the supply is improving. They get a shipment every two weeks.

Yes, they are getting better, and I don't expect that to last either. The holiday season in the States is approaching rapidly, and don't see them being in stock anywhere until sometimes next spring. Even after the holidays they still might not be slowing down. Those who haven't bought one or want to get one for someone for the upcoming holiday season, or planning to get one for themselves, now is the time to do just that.

Finally I got a couple of Wiis last week, one for me and 1 for my GF's bro(he better be grateful). It actually turned out easier than I thought. I ran around but couldn't find them in stock for weeks. I had subscribed to http://itrackr.com but after getting the alerts the stores were hoarding for the weekend sale etc. Then I also subscribed to http://wiialerts.com and forwarded the alerts to my cell phone. Last week I got an alert promptly when Amazon was in stock and I scored 2! I think I could've ordered one more. I'm going to order a few more for a couple of my cousins when I get the next alert.

I'm selling my Wii with a bunch of games and extra controllers. Pretty great deal if you ask me!

I remember back in January I waited in line for hours and hours outside Toys R Us in times square in the cold for what was supposed to be a "huge" shipment of wiis. I had finally got to what was almost the front of the line near the store when a kind of riot broke out. People had apparently been cutting all day and everyone on line got fed up. Suddenly police got involved and the whole thing ended up with Toys R Us telling everyone else waiting in line that they had no more wiis. Lies. Anyway, I was so fed up that I basically gave up trying to get a wii. It wasn't until last month that I got one when I happened to go into an FYE that had signs that said "We have Wii's in stock!" Turns out they had about ten of them. Every time I've walked past that store since then they've never had those signs again. You really just have to be in the right place at the right time.

Right place in the right time?!? LOL...I decided, after getting fed up with my PC and PS2, to buy a Wii. It only took a phonebook, phone, 6 calls and a 20 minute drive. If people that wanted the Wii wanted one bad enough, I think you'd be able to find one within 30 mintues of ya. Good Luck.

I bought mine at Shopko. I would suggest (if you haven't already) to look at places that sell electronics, but people don't normally go there to buy. Maybe you'll get lucky.
