I just got a Wii this past Monday at GameCrazy. I had stopped by the week before and they told me they receive shipments Monday through Friday (no weekends) and to call or stop by every day. That particular day I got to the store about 3 minutes after it opened and they had received a shipment of 8 Wii's---I got the 7th one. No big bundle package--just the console, 2 nunchuks, 2 wii remotes and 14 games, + a 2 year warranty for $370.
My advice is be patient and just keep trying. If there's a GameCrazy near you I would just go there every day---and be there at least 15 minutes before the store opens---those 8 wii's were gone in 20 minutes. Try not to be lured on E-bay--the same deal I got (with only a 1 yr warranty) is going for $550-$650--it's crazy.
Good luck in your search---I hope this helped.

Hi all. We've been following your forum posts and we're pleased to announce that we have Wii's in stock at The Carphone Warehouse, and are able to deliver in plenty of time for Christmas. Our Wii's are being given away free with contract mobile phones.
Please see http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com?CO...ARCH=wii&TAG=1 for a list of our current online offers.
To guarantee delivery before Christmas you will need to order on or before the 6th of December.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info .... I have a couple Gamecrazy's locally, I have dozens of gamestops though. Hmmm, I signed up for email alerts but have been unsuccessful so far ... even if you happen to be at your cpu the second you get the notification, chances are still slim to none you can beat everybody through the ordering process. I'm surprised kotaku.com hasn't posted any information as to when the next shipments are going to come in ... they were EXTREMELY helpful last year.

I know of GameStop product availability, but that doesn't tell you shipping times.
I was by the mall today when a line was forming BEFORE the Wiis came. Why was this odd you might say? Because a shipment of items comes every day but no line forms on those days. Not even the Store Managers of GameStop know when they arrive.
So how do these people somehow know what day they are shipped if the employees in the store don't even know??

This is how i got the wii and how many of my friends and family got one as well. Your local wal-mart gets wii's every week the only question is they never know when the get them. Call your local Wal-mart store and ask when the truck comes in that usually has the wii. The truck that delivers them is either a Fed-Ex truck or a Ups truck. The wii does not come in on the regular wal-mart trucksearlier t. Go hen they tell you, they told me that the truck comes in Mon.-Fri. between 12-2pm. I went there at 11:30 and walked out with a nintendo wii around 11:45am. What i have also noticed is the wii comes at the most inconveinent times. Usually around Tues. Or Wed. around lunchtime. So what im tryin to say is if you really want a wii for the holidays and you dont want to pay outrageous prices from scalpers, call wal-mart, ask them when the truck comes in, go there everyday around the same time and just wait until the truck comes. If you do that, i guarantee you will have a nintendo wii that week. And trust me you wont be the only one there everyday. Happy hunting and I hope that what i have just explained will help some of you dedicated people get the nintendo wii for the holiday season.

I called Target this morning and the lady told me that they received info that they should have them by the 18th of December. Lol, what great info, hahhaha .... compusa had them this morning, but I missed it by like 2 minutes. Late again!

I somewhat disagree with your statement that Ebayers are teh scourge of all gamers. #1 they are avaliable. #2 the price is competitive as the market will allow. #3 I get games and consoles as soon as they are out (see #2).
Ebay allows a safe transaction as well as privacy. I do not see a huge difference in price from avaliable Ebay auctions to Walmart, etc.
Be careful that you are buying from a person with history (not just a big number behind their name) and return. If an Ebay seller sells crap they will quickly be removed from Ebay. If they sell honest and fair then all is good.

No Ebay ADs!
We ALLL know that there are 40,000 units available on ebay. People who post ads don't care about the shopper. They just want to pad their wallets by posting THEIR auction specifically...not the link just to the ebay site.
Honestly, if Ebay refused to sell these consoles, the line for Wiis at the stores and online would be cut in half at the very least.

Totally disagree. Ebay is what Capitalism is about! Yes sellers on Ebay want to make money, but who dosen't? I love money and am willing to part with some of my money to buy things that please me. My choices right now for a Wii are to: 1. Wait for a local store to get one, then fight a line of other people who want a Wii, then wait in a line. 2. Go to Online auctions.
Ebay might cost a bit more, but I know I'll get one. I don't see a unrealistic cost difference on Ebay.
Anyway this isn't about Ebay. I'm excited to get my Wii and looking forward to playing it till my arms hurt! Thanks for all the very helpful information in this Forum!!!!

So you're saying you wouldn't mind if 40,000 EBay users flood this forum with their ads?
You were right though...its not about EBay. It's about the sellers posting links to this, a privately-owned forum, without paying a fee to post an ad like the advertisers you see on this page. THAT's capitalism baby!
Besides, EBay chews up 5-7% of what you sell. Try Craigslist...its free. <---a suggestion and I didn't even have to post a link to any ads.

This is a very good question and I would like to find out how these people know to line up as well. Someone must have more information.

How they know when to start lining up is probably the GameStop backdoor. It can be found at the following address:
http://www.gamestop.com/productavail...tus=A&bn=False
It tells when shipments of Wii consoles are on their way to the store, and if a store has them in stock. This is only my theory, though.

I've said it once and I'll say it again!
I have found that the best place to look for Wii's are on EBAY! Think about it.. Ebay is a huge marketplace!!! Just because your local area is running low does not mean that all Wii suppliers are out!
Def keep ur eyes open for Wiis and other systems on eBay. I highly recommend using eBaysweep to give you an advantage when looking for items. the software is free and its basically ebay on your desktop.
you can get more info on it and download it for free at www.ebaysweep.com
hope i could help!

Even though this is an option, do you want to pay extra for your Wii? Or, do you want to do some work, and get it at retail price? Those are the options that people have. Personally, I'd do the work to get one at retail price from a local game store like Fye or GameStop.
That program seems like an interesting one, though. I'll have to check it out, to see if there is a wii out there that has been un-opened and put up for auction at retail price.

I'm new here, but it looks like several major retailers in my area are looking to have wiis on Sunday. I spoke with people at Toys R Us, Best Buy, and Target.
I've never waited in line to buy anything before, but I guess my kids are worth it. I'm not sure how early is early enough, and I really hope it is not sleeting or freezing on Sunday morning.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for all of us looking for a wii for us or our families to enjoy, and hoping everyone looking to resell will stay away.

I recommend using wiialerts. I've only been signed up for less than a week for the service and recieved an alert for amazon.com just in time to score one for my son about 20 mins ago. I've had 2 prior text alerts which I failed to act quick enough.

I second using wiialerts. I must have gotten the same text as KCAllen77 and got my Wii from Amazon. $249 and free Super Saver Shipping (because I just want it by the holidays, i could wait 5 - 9 business days). I've only been using wiialerts for about a week. I've gotten three texts ... one was the sign-up text (verifying it worked) ... the second was apparently a test (they had an announcement about the test on the website) ... the third was for Wii's available at Amazon. BTW ... they say they send an email as well (which they do), but when I got the alert, i had not gotten the email yet (I checked right away). I would suggest, when you get the alert, go directly to wiialerts.com ...they change their homepage so essentially all it is is a link to the available Wiis. Very quick. I also created accounts at all of the places they do alerts for, so it makes my transaction go very quickly.

10 minutes in stock on Amazon.com, but I got it. I'm so glad I don't have to stand in line Sunday morning.
Thanks for all the awesome advice here.

It was confirmed to me today by a Best Buy rep that they ARE getting a shipment of Wii's this Sunday Dec 2nd. I live in PA and the store that I stopped at said that they are only getting 19 in! They open at 10:00am
A friend who works for Walmart said that he gets their shipments on Tuesday's. He said all Walmarts have the same date (don't know how reliable this is). But they will be getting 30 Wii's in this Tuesday at 6:00am.
Both of these stores are selling the consol only, no bundle.
